Purpose: The Chaplain is responsible for the provision of pastoral activities and provides emotional and spiritual support during difficult times.
Requirements: •Three Year Theological Qualification or equivalent (NQF Level 6) as •Ordination as a Pastor or Minister •4- 6 years working experience as a Pastor or Chaplain •Experience in the law enforcement environment will be advantageous

Duties: Provide spiritual counselling services to all RTMC employees going through personal and emotional challenges of all sorts and ensure confidentiality •Provide advice in matters pertaining to religion, morals and morale •Ensure the implementation of a full program of religious ministries, including workshops, counselling sessions, religious education and special events
•Officiate at official ceremonies such as traffic law enforcement functions, funerals and memorials •Provide religious ministry to a variety of armed service personnel and civilians from South Africa, foreign nations and other traffic agencies •Develop an integrated pastoral care ministry of support, guidance, nurture and encouragement •Provide information on faith traditions and access to resources and rituals •Assist RTMC staff to cope with the psychological, social and spiritual aspects of their illnesses and difficulties arising from them •Offer counselling services related to problems/issues that the staff might share with a professional religious worker such as fear of death, guilt, and forgiveness •Act as a facilitator between RTMC and employees’ families •Officiate RTMC’s memorial services and prayer services as per management’s request •serving as a representative of the religious community, funeral services for the Corporation •Assist employees to explore spiritual resources for rehabilitation, healing and growth •Coach and mentor staff regarding psycho-social-spiritual concerns •Debrief groups of staff due to any traumatic incidence •File and record chaplain activities and report to the Manager: Employee Wellness •Provide updated reports in area of responsibility.
