The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote safe use of our roads.
 
Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Payroll, the successful candidate is accountable to oversee the work done by payroll officers and facilitate the accurate and timeous payment of salaries to the correct beneficiaries as well as third party in line with the legislative requirements.
 
Key Performance Areas
 
Payroll Administration
  • Review inputs captured by the Payroll Officers.
  • Handle payroll queries and advise business on RAF Benefits and Salary Structure.
  • Apply for the tax directive on SARS efiling system.
  • Review captured subsistence and travel claims on SAP.
  • Ensure that IRP5’s contains accurate data and are distributed on time.
  • Handle tax queries and perform manual tax calculation where necessary.
 
Reporting
  • Prepare Internal and External reports and ensure that reports are submitted timeously, such as Stats SA, COIDA, EE reports etc.
  • Develop payroll reports in line with the business requirements.
 
Stakeholder Relations
  • Aid in proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aid in the maintenance of relationships with service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.
 
Process Third Party Payments
  • Analyse third party quotes and ensure payment thereof.
 
Monitor System Compliance
  • Perform end user tests on SAP.
  • Perform Payroll system conducts.
  • Develop business processes and procedures.
 
People Management
  • Ensure that good employee relations are maintained.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to employees.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Finance/ HR or related qualification.
  • SAP HR/ Payroll Certification will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant 4 years’ experience in a Payroll/HR Administration environment of which 1 year must have been on supervisory level.
  • Experience in SAP HR/Payroll Functional Modules

  • Practical knowledge of, and experience in the application of tax and payroll related legislation.

  • Understanding and Practical knowledge of relevant Acts and Collective Agreements (BCEA, LRA, TAX,UIF, WCA, SARS, Pension and Medical Aid Funds).
  • Basic understanding of ER, Training and Development, and Performance Management.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Computer literate – In depth knowledge of HR/Payroll/Financial Software Packages, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word.

Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Operations Reporting, the successful incumbent is accountable for conducting research, analysing and providing statistics for forecasting purposes to enable effective decision making. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible to implement rigor and desired practices for effective and improved claims reports and claims information collation.
 
Key Performance Areas
 
Collation, interrogation, analysis and compilation of accurate statistical reports
  • Perform analysis on all qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Develop various templates and reporting automation processes and prepare operational reports for systems.
  •  Prepare and supervise report proposals and analyze data and recommend corrections to claims division.
  •  Provide relevant statistical reports for forecasting purposes.
  •  Help resolve claims report queries and complaints and record them.
  • Assist claimants with reports by providing feedback on claims that are presented or lodged directly.
 
Maintain and escalate data integrity issues to the relevant department
  • Confirm data extract source from the system.
  • Request changes on the type and the format of the report from the IT Systems Change Manager.
  • Prepare cross systems integration reports (integrate various report from all systems reports).
  • Coordinate with Claims Managers to determine reporting requirements to confirm data requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the existing claims and advise improvements for claims data processing procedures.
 
Stakeholder Management
  • Facilitate and manage communication with relevant internal external stakeholders in relation to proactively and progressively manage the relationships.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.
  • Communicate with all levels of stakeholder contact.
  • Represent the Fund in relevant external activities and events.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Risk Management/ Governance/ Compliance/ Auditing related qualification.
  • Relevant 4 years’ experience in an operations reporting related environment.
