Purpose of the Job: Assess and Review Medical Bills.
Key Performance Areas
- Assess and review medical bills.
- Provide Human Resource Management.
- Quality control of subordinates work.
- Train and manage performance of subordinates.
- Supervision of medical assistants who will be doing bill review on smaller claims.
- Process Payment Request.
- Serious Injury Assessment.
- Review RAF Form 4 and other medico-legal reports.
- Assist with determination of serious injuries.
- Give an opinion on general damages.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
- NQF 7(Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Medical Related Field (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Radiology, Orthotics/ Prosthetics) qualification.
- Relevant 4 years' experience of which 1 year is on supervisory level.
- Medical Billing, tariffs and coding.
Technical and behavioural competencies required - Knowledge of tariffs: National Health Reference Price List (NHRPL) and Uniform Patient Free Schedule (UPFS).
- Knowledge of procedure and treatment codes: ICD 10 and CPT4.
- Basic understanding of managed health care industry in South Africa (Medical claims and charges).

Remuneration
Total cost to company of the minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is
R502 953.00 per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.
