Purpose of the Job: The SENIOR INVESTIGATOR: FORENSIC is accountable for strategic, operational, financial, management and technical leadership to the forensic Department, to develop plans and implement processes and investigate techniques, manage risks and be a point of contact and liaison with internal /external matters pertaining to RAF.
Key Performance Areas:
Forensic Investigation.
- Planning and coordinating the investigation of cases as assigned to by respective management
- Maintain partnership relationship with the prosecuting authorities and Law Enforcement agencies.
- Drawing of monthly /weekly reports for the region for transmission to the senior manager.
- Identify the loopholes in the process that may lead to abuse and report such to the Forensic Manager.
- Investigate irregularities identified or brought to his attention with a view of securing prosecution of parties involved.
- Maintain healthy working relationship with law enforcement agencies and Forensic Department private investigation working partners.
- Analyse reports received from private investigating companies or assessors and compile affidavits on behalf of RAF in order to lay criminal charges against guilty parties.
- Opening / registering of criminal cases with the Police and keeping proper records thereof.
- Compiling a comprehensive monthly activities report and submission thereof to the Forensics Manager.
- Giving of evidence at criminal courts and departmental hearings.
- Supporting other RAF departments in connection with investigation that is being or has been conducted.
- Management of RAF logistical and human resources.
- Meeting the targets as set down by a Forensic Manager and performing his tasks according to the set standards.
- Maintaining and updating of Tracker spreadsheet of agents / touts that recruit the claimants for the purpose of effective data mining during investigation.
- Investigation of reports received from Tip-Offs Anonymous and giving feedback to the Manager timeously.
- Involvement in internal and external fraud campaigns initiated by Forensic Department or in conjunction with Communications Department.
- Effective case management and record keeping i.e. inspections, case books, vehicle registers etc.
- Keeping record of all the cases that he / she reported to the Police, reflecting the Police reference numbers, the names of the Investigation Officer and the amount involved.
- Giving support and guidance to his / her sub-ordinates and conduct inspection on investigation undertaken.
- Provide feedback to stakeholders in respect of investigations that were referred.
- Establishment and maintenance of informer network within and outside his province.
- Implementation of current fraud prevention strategy.
- Be prepared to assist when there are national projects initiated by H/Office.
- Identify, initiate and manage projects
Stakeholder Relations Management
- NPA and other external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strategic alliances with all relevant stakeholders including law enforcement agencies.
- Facilitate communication with all levels of stakeholder contact.
- Develop and maintain good working relations with all the stakeholders including staff, the claimants, lawyers, government departments, the SAPS.

Qualifications and Experience:
- NQF 7(Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) related qualification in Law/Accounting/Police administration
- Valid Driver’s License (Code B or above)
- Relevant 5-7 years’ experience in a fraud investigation environment of which 2 (two) years must have been on supervisory level or area of expertise
- Experience in understanding of the criminal procedure act and law of evidence.
- Experience in Investigation of crime and knowledge of criminal justice system.
- Experience in preparation of court cases for court.
- Experience and proven track record of testifying in a court of law.

Remuneration
A total cost to company of minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R 668 907.00 per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.
