Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Cyber Investigation, the successful candidate will be responsible to conducting internal and external Cyber related investigations through managing incident response and conducting digital forensic investigations related investigations.

Perform Data Mining and Analysis
- Perform a variety of highly technical analyses and procedures dealing with the collection, processing and preservation, analysis and presentation of computer related evidence.
- Perform VDI Forensics (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) incident response.
- Identify high risk focus areas with data analysis.
- Facilitate customer’s requests and track progress.
- Develop continuous new projects to monitor fraud/ risks.
Report Writing
- Write technical reports detailing how the computer evidence was discovered and all steps taken during the retrieval process.
- Plays a liaison role to Internal Audit for stats verification.
- Generate expert witness Forensic report validated by 3rd party Forensic tools.
- Prepare visual presentations/ Event charting.
- Report on data base related irregularities.
Present Evidence as an Expert in Court or Disciplinary Hearing
- Collect evidence in preparation to be expert witness.
- Testify in disciplinary hearing or court proceedings regarding evidence collected and the methods used to collect and analyse evidence.
Conduct Training and Stakeholder Management
- Keep current on new methodologies and forensic technology.
- Train new users on Case Management tool.
- Provide Expert advisory to outsourced Digital forensics cases.
- Attend to change/ reset of password and username faults.
- Monitor and handle all case management.
- Perform Audit trails and backup the case management database.
Forensic Management Administration
- Administer storage and naming convention of digital evidence file.
- Assist management with server upgrades and maintenance plans including software Licenses.
- Provide support and administration for Lab network.
- Create user accounts and monitor Cyber Lab network security e.g. Network printer, Analyst machine connection.
- Assist in Cyber policy drafting and updating.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 in Computer Science related qualification to discipline.
- Certification ACE or FTK for Computer Forensic or relevant and CCME for Mobile Forensics or relevant.
- i2 Analysis Notebook certification will be advantageous.
- Relevant 5 years’ experience in Cyber Forensics or Computer, Network and Mobile Forensics and Incidents response and analysis of which 2 years must have been in an area of expertise.
- Experience in handling investigations and/ or security breaches involving Electronic data storing devices or cybercrime.

- Knowledge of the Electronic Communication Act 36 of 2005.
- Extensive knowledge of network architecture, email based systems and security risks.
- Knowledge and understanding of the new POPI Act
- Ability to utilize forensic software and applications such as Encase (ENCE), Access Data Forensic Toolkit (ACE), i2 Analysis Notebook, ACL SPLUNK, i2 iBase, Cellebrite, XRY Mobile Forensic Tool.
- Data mining and analysis skills.
- Programming knowledge.
- IT Knowledge, Possesses a broader knowledge base in fundamental IT technical skills sets. Stays informed on emerging trends.
- IT Planning and Management of strategies to maintain the security confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance of information systems.
- Knowledge of Investigative Auditing; Understanding and ability to apply auditing techniques and procedures to uncover inappropriate financial practices, fraud and errors and gathering evidence that can be used in a court of law.
- Knowledge of the PFMA.
Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R591 298.00 per annum, negotiable.
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs".
