Main Objectives
To oversee the technical functions of the Department of Chemistry, including instrument maintenance, laboratory maintenance, and to provide technical support.
The Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification plus 4 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -
- Appropriate technical experience/certification (electronics)
- Previous experience working in a technical environment
- Previous experience working with safety standards
- At least one year supervision of a team

- Tutoring, facilitation, or conference presentation experience required. No teaching experience is required, but teaching experience in a technical area of Computer Science, including programming, will be an advantage.
- No research supervision is required.
- Emerging track record of research publication and/or conference presentations
- Some administrative or management experience, albeit in informal contexts, e.g., student or sports clubs, work experience.

The provision of a holistic psychological support service to the students of the University. The Counselling Centre serves a dual function: firstly, to provide psychological care to students and, secondly, as an accredited internship site for the training of intern psychologists.
The Requirements
Qualified Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA), with approximately 5 years relevant work experience over and above their internship where such experience includes:
- Previous experience working with adolescents or individuals in early adulthood. The greater diversity of the experience with adolescents the better for example, experience in one-on-one counselling, group counselling and educational work. Those individuals with specific experience of working with University students will also be at an advantage
- Previous experience supervising interns with a good track record of having done so
- At least 3 years’ previous supervision/management experience

Re-advertising: Assistant Archivist (Grade 11) - Three-year contract post
Library Services Division
The Library Services Division Technical Services invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
The main purpose of this position is to prepare, under the supervision and in consultation with the Archivist (direct line manager) and working closely with other staff at Cory Library for Humanities Research whenever needed, to collect, select, appraise or dispose, accession, submit for digitizing, conserve, secure, and making accessible past and current relevant archival materials (paper-based, other tangible objects, audio-visual, etc.) deposited into the library as part of collection development. The incumbent will overall deliver collection development activities related to all special and archival materials at the Cory Library for Humanities research.
The Requirements
A 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Library and Information Sciences (i.e. NQF level 7) plus approximately 3 years' relevant experience, which includes:
- Previous work experience or exposure within the GLAM sector, especially Archives or Museums
- Project management assistance experience will be an added advantage
- Currently studying for or a completed post-matric formal educational qualification in Archival Studies, History, Heritage Studies, Heritage Curation, or similar will be an added advantage
- Current professional membership of the South African Society of Archivists (SASA) or any related would be an advantage
