TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT 

ELECTRICAL ASSISTANT (2 POSTS) 

TASK GRADE 05 

(REFERENCE: HRM260514 - 01) 

Salary: R 148 873. 87 – 192 272. 28 per annum (Excluding all benefits) 

 

Requirements: Grade 12 •Certificate in Electrical Field •12 months relevant electrical experience. 

 

Key Performance Areas: Performs specific electrical activities supporting the Artisan in executing minor and major works during major installations, maintenance and repair works • preparation of worksites sites • digging trenches, laying cables and positioning poles • removing and replacing components on isolated circuits• conducting and reporting load test outcomes • Clearing low and medium voltage cable routes • Clearing low and medium voltage cable routes• Painting of robot poles • Clearing around mini substations• removing and replacing defective components • testing circuits and the functionality new components to detect faults. 

The candidate will be required to work under all weather conditions, work outside of normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime, work on weekends and during public holidays and will be required to be on standby 24 hours, seven days a week.
