Description
The Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) seeks to appoint a Chairperson and up to two (2) external Audit and Risk Committee members.  The Audit and Risk Committee carries out its functions in line with the roles, responsibilities and powers set out in the PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, RSR Audit and Risk Committee Charter and King IV.
 
Requirements
Term of Contract
1 March 2025 - 28 February 2028
 
Required qualifications and experience:
  • NQF level 8 qualification in Finance, Risk Management, and Auditing related disciplines.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Audit Committee member or five (5) years’ experience as an Executive.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (i.e., SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, IRMSA, IIA etc.)
  • Knowledge of transport/railway industry will be considered as an added advantage.
 
Areas of Expertise
  • Strong reporting and financial management skills (GRAP & IFRIS).
  • Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
  • Internal and external audit functions in the public sector.
  • Management principles and ethics.
  • Corporate governance principles.
  • Auditing, governance, IT and risk assessment process control; and
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
