PUBLIC PROTECTOR
MANAGER: EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
(2 year fixed – term contract)
Reference: PPSA 01/04/2022
Location: Head Office, Pretoria
All-inclusive salary package: R 744, 255.00 per annum
Requirements: An appropriate National Diploma or Bachelor's degree (preferably with Business Management/Public Management/Public Administration/Office Management) is required • A Postgraduate qualification in Public Management/Business Management or Office Management will be an added advantage • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience is required of which 3 years should be in a support role to a Senior Executive • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other relevant legislative frameworks is essential • Training in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or Project • Protocol knowledge, Good report writing skills and a valid code driver’s license.

Key responsibilities: Establish and maintain all administrative processes and systems in the Executive Office • Establish and maintain systems and processes for the tracking, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of all documents and administration in the Executive Office • Undertake the quarterly collation of directorate operational reports including the analysis thereof in relation to expected outcomes and deliverables • Co-ordinate, facilitate and undertake the processes for writing, submissions and reports for the Executive Office • Coordinate the workflow in the Executive Office. Ensure fast and excellent service delivery from the Executive Office • Create and maintain a records and document management system for the Executive Office • Liaise with management to inform them of any instructions of the Executive Authority and follow up on Executive decisions • Uphold the PPSA values in the Executive Authority’s Office • Undertake any reasonable duty as requested by the Senior Manager: Executive Support • Guide, lead and direct subordinate staff members • Assist with the preparation and management of the Executive Office budget • Ensure compliance and adherence to PPSA procurement processes • Provide regular feedback to the Senior Manager: Executive Support regarding operational responsibilities • Ensure proper record keeping. Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

Note: All appointments will be done in terms of the Public Protector Act and a 6 month probation period which may be extended to 12 months will be applicable. The successful candidates will be expected to sign the secrecy declaration form and performance agreement within 2 months of appointment.

ASSISTANT MANAGER: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Reference: PPSA 04/04/2022
Location: Head Office, Pretoria
Basic Salary: R382, 245.00 per annum plus benefits
Requirements: A National Diploma/B Tech or a three year B Com degree or equivalent qualification in Finance/ Supply Chain Management/Purchasing Management/Logistics • Five (5) years functional experience in Supply Chain Management environment of which three (3) years must have been at a supervisory level • Knowledge of legislation governing the procurement of goods and services in the public sector • Knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, B-BBEE and Treasury Regulations pertaining to Supply Chain Management and Procurement • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent Procurement System • Knowledge of the Central Supplier Database processes • Adequate computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence.
Knowledge, skills and competencies: Sound negotiation, numerical and computer Skills • Excellent communication, analytical, attention to details, Project Management, facilitation and presentation skills • Diplomacy and good interpersonal relations, planning and organising skills • Problem solving skills • Ability to act independently and in a team • Report writing skills.
Key responsibilities and duties: Ensure an efficient system of SCM ordering and service delivery • Assist in developing and improving/updating systems, policies and procedures in respect of Supply Chain Management • Provide guidance and direction on SCM matters to Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) Management and employees • Ensure all procurement within the PPSA are compliant with the relevant legislation (e.g. PFMA; PPPFA; BBBEE; National Treasury Instruction notes, etc.) • Coordinate PPSA’s demand plan and monitor performance against set targets • Receive and deal with requests and proposals from the various units • Liaising with Internal and External Auditors to ensure institutional accountability on Supply Chain Management matters • Monitoring of all requests submitted through SAP including ad-hoc requests to ensure that they are finalized • Monitor quotations and purchase orders on the SAP System • Monitor processes to enable that invoices are paid within 30 days • Reporting on the general effectiveness of the implementation of Supply Chain Management • Providing administrative support to Bid Committees • Assist with managing all activities pertaining to requests for proposals and bids • Supervising and guiding subordinates in their daily responsibilities. Assist with SCM training and development.
