PUBLIC PROTECTOR 
 
SENIOR MANAGER: STRATEGIC SUPPORT 
Location: Head Office, Pretoria (PPSA 01/02/2023) 
All-inclusive salary package: R1, 105 383.00 - R1, 302 102.00 per annum

Requirements:
An undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) as recognized by SAQA in Public Management and Administration/ Business Administration/ Economic Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Information Management • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in which at least (5) five years’ experience at middle or senior management level involved in strategy planning, monitoring and evaluation • Extensive experience and exposure in Corporate Governance, Compliance and regulatory environment • Advanced Public sector experience in Strategy Planning, monitoring and evaluation • Knowledge of Risk Management will be an added advantage • A valid driver’s license.

Advance knowledge of government planning and reporting processes • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and techniques • Knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other relevant legislative frameworks • Knowledge of Public Service legal framework and leadership • Knowledge of Programme and Project Management • Knowledge of Change Management and Transformation • Knowledge Management, service delivery innovation • Problem solving skills • Knowledge of translation of concepts into operational activities • Knowledge and understanding of performance management • Knowledge of statistical analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Manage and maintain credible strategic planning processes for the Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) • Coordinate the process of developing the strategic and annual performance plans for the PPSA • Facilitate and guide the development of Business Units annual operational plans and monitor the implementation thereof • Provide strategic guidance and expert advice in terms of Strategic planning and development within the PPSA • Ensure the effective integration of strategic planning, annual performance planning, business planning and budgeting processes • Ensure, monitor and report on the implementation of the Strategic Plan, Annual Performance Plan and Operational Plans. • Develop/ Maintain a framework/ system for monitoring and evaluating the performance of the PPSA on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the PPSA • Provide reports to various stakeholders on the performance of the PPSA • Manage various strategic and institutional performance management events and projects/ programmes to compliance with the planning and reporting prescripts • General management of the Strategic Support Unit

Note: All appointments will be done in terms of the Public Protector Act and a 12 month probation period which may be extended to 18 months will be applicable. The successful candidates will be expected to sign the secrecy declaration form and a performance agreement within 2 months of accepting the position. 
 
All successful candidates will have to undergo security clearance and vetting.
