MANAGER: COMMUNICATIONS
Reference: PPSA 07/01/2022, Location: Head Office, Pretoria
Basic Salary: R744, 255.00 plus benefits


​Requirements:

A relevant undergraduate qualification at NQF level 6/7 in Communications/Marketing/Journalism/Public Relations as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) • A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Media Liaison, Content Development and Research, and writing for the mass media of which, 3 years should have been at a supervisory or managerial role.• Knowledge of the development of Communication Strategies • A post graduate degree will be an added advantage • Valid driver’s license. Experience in Journalism will be an added advantage.

Key responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of Communications Strategy and policies • Manage all corporate communication activities that include both external and internal communication, special programmes, marketing and corporate identity management responsibilities • Produce corporate publications, including assisting in the production of the Annual Report •. Provide comprehensive communication support to the Public Protector South Africa • Provide research and content development services • Manage PPSA’s Social Media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter etc) including daily monitoring, posting and content development • Events management: e.g. hosting of guests, media briefings, conferences, etc advocacy and public awareness, etc • Manage graphic design, photography, video content, video shooting and editing • Manage, supervise and guide subordinates.

Note: All appointments will be done in terms of the Public Protector Act and a 12 month probation period which may be extended to 18 months will be applicable. The successful candidates will be expected to sign the secrecy declaration form and a performance agreement within 2 months of accepting the position.
 
A successful candidate will have to undergo security clearance, vetting and practical assessments may be conducted.
