Purpose of the role:
To manage the ERM Risk function of the PIC including listed and unlisted investment
Requirements:
- Relevant post-graduate qualification in risk or auditing or business management
- 8 -10 years of risk management experience, of which three years must be at senior management with direct reports
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of internal controls and control functions.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks.
- Knowledge and understanding of third-party risk management frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of financial instruments and markets.
Duties:
- The role involves the identification, assessment, responses and monitoring of enterprise risk management in the PIC
- Support the maintenance of an efficient and effective ERM Risk function.
- Enhance the ERM Risk function to meet the requirements of management, board and clients with respect of listed and unlisted investments.
- Adequately manage staff in the ERM Risk function ensuring that the expected benefits of the function are obtained.
- Reporting to and the translation of, relevant information emanating from the ERM Risk function.
- Development and maintenance of an effective enterprise risk management philosophy across investment and corporate functions.
- Provide independent risk assessment and reporting actions to provide a holistic PIC view of the risks to the organisation.
- Co-ordinate the risk analysis activities of the PIC Business units assigned in Corporate Functions, and identify appropriate responses to risks identified.
- Provide independent oversight and risk assessment of third-party risk management.
- Work with Compliance, Internal & External Audit functions and other Assurance Providers to direct their efforts towards reviewing controls that mitigate the identified risks across the organization
- Reporting to various PIC governance structures as and when required.
Competencies and skills:
- Thorough knowledge of risk management principles and practices including ERM risk management principles
- Knowledge of the ISO 31000 standards, COSO risk governance principles, Basel risk principles, corporate governance principles e.g., King IV
- Knowledge of asset management industry
- Knowledge of insurance coverage, industry standards
- Knowledge of financial markets
- Knowledge of compliance, risk and financial management
- Report both verbally and in writing on the state of ERM

Purpose of the role:
To ensure commitment to ESG performance, sustainability and climate action. This position is focused on assisting with developing, integrating, implementing, and managing initiatives that address and enhance climate change and sustainability. The role aims to strengthen PIC’s position as a leader in sustainability by not only complying with relevant regulations but also excelling in responsible investment, thereby enhancing the company's reputation and contributing to sustainability.
The ESG Associate: Sustainability will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of sustainability within the organisation, engaging stakeholders, assessing risks and promoting awareness of sustainability and climate change issues, ultimately helping PIC achieve its long-term climate change, sustainability and ESG objectives.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- ESG related (Environmental, Governance or Social) Honours degree
- At least 5-7 years’ experience with direct experience in sustainability and climate change
- Must have demonstrable experience in sustainability analysis and sustainable finance
- Must have experience in conducting analytical work related to climate change adaptation, resilience, and mitigation issues
- Must have experience developing sustainability and climate change strategies and policies with an understanding of how these are integrated into business processes
- Must have experience in monitoring, measurement, and disclosure of Sustainability KPIs
- Must have experience working with large data, data management and data analytics
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement
- Strong understanding of governance issues related to sustainability and climate change within financial institutions
- Experience in quantifying carbon footprints
- Experience in quantifying climate physical and transition risks and opportunities
- Experience developing sustainability monitoring, reporting and evaluation frameworks and tools
- Strong understanding of sustainability and climate change within the South African and Global context
- Technical expertise in understanding international best practice in terms of sustainability standards, particularly in reporting and monitoring
- Understanding of the role of carbon credits, RECs and application strategies
- Understanding integrating sustainability and climate change into business processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of sustainable financial instruments
- Working knowledge of BBBEE issues
- MS Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications and Technical/Core Skill Requirements

- Experience in investments/financing sustainability projects
- Experience with frameworks such as PCAF, TPT and the SBTi and best practice reporting standards

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FIXED TERM CONTRACT (12 MONTHS)

Purpose of the role: The Development Manager manages specific developments from inception to the delivery of a completed Asset. One of the key focus areas of this role is to ensure innovations in terms of resource efficiency, sustainability and green developments. This role plays an integral part in the project management execution of new development opportunities as well as the upgrading of the PIC’s investment property assets.
Requirements:
- Relevant Hons equivalent degree in Business, Built Environment or Property related field
- Minimum 5 - 7 years’ relevant experience within the Property Industry
- FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Technical Knowledge in Asset Management
- Strong market research capability
- Proven understanding of financial models and cost management
Duties:
Create and manage development opportunities from inception to delivery 2
- Conduct market research and gather market intelligence on the local Property Market and all development activity.
- Investigate project desirability in line with Company Strategy and market conditions by generative feasibilities.
- Manage developments on existing land in line with associated rights.
- Optimise and approve building design and ensure sustainability of investments, in line with Town Planning principles.
- Manage and monitor actual developments versus projects approved by the Investment Committees in terms of design, cost, budget and timeline.
- Manage the delivery of all development projects and present feedback to the National Development Manager and Investment Committees in collaboration with the appointed Professional teams.
Manage the financial aspects of all development projects including financial modelling
- Monitor spend per project and provide feedback to the Investment Committee.
- Co-create and present monthly budgets to the National Development Manager for all development purposes and monitor actual spend versus budget.
- Monitor profitability per development.
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in terms of documentation and contracts
- Ensure the drafting and signing of all necessary contracts in collaboration with the Legal Department.
Build and maintain strategic business relationships
- Manage developers and consultants, working on the PIC projects on behalf of the PIC or Joint Venture developments to achieve completion within agreed timelines.
- Build and maintain relationships within the Property and Development industry, Joint Venture partners, Local Authorities and other business stakeholders to grow and develop a strong business network.
Identifies and manages business risk
- Control, manage and govern the processes and systems within the area of accountability to ensure compliance and minimise the business risk.
- Implement all audit recommendations in the area of accountability and resolve audit findings timeously
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations by PIC staff and contractors
Reports on all activities and latest trends
- Produce project status and financial reports for review by the National Development Manager
Participate in training and development initiatives in line with personal development plans
