ANALYST: OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT

Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Risk or Audit or equivalent relevant qualification
- Sound understanding of operational risk management principles.
- Financial services industry knowledge and experience (Preferably Asset Management).
- A good understanding of the key areas of the organization.
- 2 - 4 Years relevant experience
Duties:
- Conduct day-to-day operational risk activities in terms of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and related frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the Senior Manager: Operational Risk in the identification, assessment, responses, and monitoring of Operational Risk in the PIC
- Coordinate the risk analysis activities of the PIC Business Units, including both listed and unlisted investments.
- Work with Compliance, Internal and External Audit functions and other Assurance Providers to direct their efforts towards reviewing controls that mitigate the identified risks across the organization.
- Support the process of identifying and reporting risk incidents and assist in the design of risk mitigation and control procedures within PIC.
- Support process of identifying and reporting issues and actions within PIC.
- Conduct control environment assessments for the organization.
- Conduct, implement and assess key risk indicators.
- Assist the ORM Department with reporting to various governance structures.
Competencies and skills:
- Problem-solving skills.

- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of compliance, risk, and financial management.
- Knowledge of financial markets - capital, money, equity, foreign exchange, and financial derivatives.
- Knowledge of insurance coverage, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of the ISO 31000 standards, Basel Operational Risk principles, COSO risk governance principles, and corporate governance principles e.g., King IV.
- Knowledge of (ORX) Operational Risk Reporting Standards.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management principles.

LEGAL ADVISOR – INVESTMENTS LEGAL

Requirements:
- LLB degree
- Between 3 – 5 years post-admission experience specifically in an Unlisted environment
- Admitted attorney of the High Court with between 3 – 5 years of articles experience
Duties:
- Conduct legal research, and provide opinions and advice in respect of corporate/commercial law matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate corporate, commercial banking and finance-related agreements.
- Negotiate transactions of a corporate, commercial banking and finance nature pertaining to private/unlisted entities.
- Manage Unlisted transactions (i.e., debt funding, project finance, energy: oil and gas and renewable energy, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and/or structured finance transactions).
- Assist with any litigation and/or arbitration emanating from transactions Identify new and amendments to investment legislation that impact PIC and advise and assist with implementation thereof.
- Manage the appointment process of procuring external counsel on the PIC panel and provide the requisite instructions to appointed external counsel.
- Assist with post-management of transactions and disbursement processes.
- Provide training to staff on legislation and legal matters pertaining to the PIC.
- Assist with projects of the PIC in relation to Unlisted Investments.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Exposure to Fixed Income instruments is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Body/Association:
- CFA / CA
Minimum Technical Requirement:
- Investment analysis

- Complete and customise Excel-based valuation models
- Maintain, develop and update fundamental investment models
Duties:
- Assist in adhering to PIC Fixed Income Investment Policy, procedures, mandates, and strategy.
- Assist in managing Portfolios of PIC Clients with the objective of outperforming benchmarks performance targets of the fixed Income portfolios are met.
- Assist with Liquidity Management of Portfolios
- Assist with researching and evaluating investment ideas and concepts.
- Assist with producing monthly and quarterly portfolio management reports.
- Client Reporting
- Monitor developments in the financial markets to maintain an understanding of current and anticipated trends and how they may affect client portfolios.
