COLLECTIVE BARGAINING OFFICER (CHAMBERS) 
 
Introduction
1. The Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC) is designated in section 36 of the Labour Relations Act, 66 of 1995, to promote labour peace through constructive collective bargaining and expeditious resolution of disputes. 
2. The PHSDSBC has a vacancy for Collective Bargaining Officer (Chambers).

10. Post: Collective Bargaining Officer (Chambers). Reference number: CB083123. 
 
11. Purpose of the post: To act as an Officer: Collective Bargaining (Chambers) for the Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (The Council). To ensure the efficient and effective coordination and administration of collective bargaining processes to various structures of the PHSDSBC (Chambers and Task Teams). 
 
12. Salary: 351 920.48 amount per annum (Level 8) excluding benefits such as: medical aid, housing allowance and provident fund.

16.1. National Senior Certificate Grade 12 (NQF4), and a recognized three (3) years National Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Labour Relations or Labour Law (NQF6/7). 
17.1. A minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience in coordinating Collective Bargaining meeting and provision of labour relations expertise.

17. Experience Required: 
18.1. Must have sound knowledge and understanding of public service labour law, as well as good interpersonal, communication and writing skills, long hours, and the ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines. 
18.2. Must have a valid driver’s license as the position involves travelling and over-night stays. 
19.1. Planning and organizing of meetings for the PHSDSBC structures i.e. Chambers and Task Teams. 
19.2. Provide secretarial and logistical support to the Chambers and Task Teams. 
19.3. Manage and coordinate PHSDSBC special projects i.e Chamber Meetings. Preceding the Council Annual General Meetings (AGMs), training and development for Council and Chambers and other ad hoc projects. 
19.4. Record and draft minutes of meetings and ensure the highest standard of editorial integrity. 
19.5. Develop and maintain a follow-up system on actions arising from the meetings. 
19.6. Manage a good record keeping system of the reports, minutes, and resolutions of Chambers. 
19.7. Manage general correspondence of Council, ExCo, Committees and Chambers to ensure the maintenance of the integrity of incoming and outgoing Council documents. 
19.8. Advice Chambers on general queries regarding the Council resolutions and constitution.
19.9. Drafting, facilitation and presentation of collective agreements and policies. 
19.10. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual schedules and reports. 
19.11. Participate in the development and implementation of the departmental operational plan and the budget thereof.
