Main purpose of the job
The job purpose is to assist the PPECB in effecting more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximize profitability. Sourcing specialists analyse costs, negotiate contract details, and offer strategies and solutions to help the PPECB better manage costs on supplies and vendor services.
 
High level job objectives
  1. To manage the Procurement Process, provide guidance to all stakeholders and manage procurement risks.
  2. To identify and introduce cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities in the business when solutions are searched in the market and acquire the best prices from suppliers through negotiations and price benchmarking.
  3. To enable the use technology to simplify, automate, integrate, and measure all procurement processes in the business.
  4. To demonstrate and ensure the professional values, ethical behaviour, and legal compliance essential to a sustainable business model.
  5. To measure the performance, take corrective action of suppliers and report accordingly.
  6. To ensure proper implementation of the Preferential Procurement Policy, Enterprise Supplier Development strategy and initiatives to drive transformation objectives.

Qualifications
Minimum of a 3-year tertiary qualification in Procurement / Finance / Commercial / Supply Chain Management or relevant - Essential
Membership with CIPS or equivalent - Desirable
 
Experience
Time Span: 5 years
  • Extensive experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management - supply chain management and/or procurement experience in a decentralized, multi-structured organisation - Essential
  • Experience in procurement of IT Hardware, Software and related services will be advantageous. - Desirable
  • Procurement experience in the Public Sector will be profitable. - Desirable

  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business

Job Description
The Statutory Operations Division within the Durban region has a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant to be appointed permanently, to ensure accurate and timeous capturing of documents , ensuring completeness of income and value adding support to the respective region.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Providing administrative support to external and internal clients
  • Data base administration and ensure timeous capturing on the information system
  • Comparing of information on different databases
  • Document and administrative control according to standards
  • Timeous recording of information on Navision and ERP
  • Ensuring adherence to internal business processes, procedures and policies
  • Assist  with general administrative tasks including reports and statistics.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
  • A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant administrative experience within the PPECB
  • Knowledge of Navision system and ERP system
  • Administrative knowledge and experience in both value streams within the PPECB
  • Administrative knowledge on capturing  cold chain documents, billing vessel files, timesheets, capturing inspection documents, queries and credit notes, including Cold chain Titan and PI Titan verification and validation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good numeric skills with track record 
  • Basic experience in accounting would be advantageous.
  • Certificates in computer training would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of the perishable industry and regulatory environment, risk management and ISO principles.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behavior
