PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE OF THE FREE STATE (PACOFS) – STAGE MANAGER

 
MIINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 A 3 years’ Diploma in Theatre Services or any equivalent and appropriate, related qualification.
 At least 3 years’ experience within the engineering field.
 Knowledge and experience in working with theatre equipment.
 Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work irregular hours.
 Valid driver’s licence.
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 Overseeing theatre production rehearsals;
 Supervising scene changes to result in successful running of the theatre shows;
 Executing and supervising set-ups of décor, props and fly’s as required by productions in the theatre;
 Giving cues to front-of-house, sound technician, lighting technician, mechanist, stage crew and follow spotters during shows;
 Breaking down and returning all décor, props and fly’s to the stores after a production;
 Training junior technicians on various equipment and familiarising them with the practices used in the institution.
