PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE OF THE FREE STATE (PACOFS)
VACANCY
Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for the following vacant post:-
POSITION: OHS & SECURITY MANAGER
All-inclusive remuneration: R546 989 – R813 878 per annum
MIINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A recognised three year Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (NQF Level 7) or equivalent relevant qualification;
At least 3 years’ experience in OHS and security management environment;
Understanding of the OHS practices and regulations, and experience in managing an outsourced security function;
Available 24/7 to attend to any emergencies;
Valid driver’s licence.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Develop, communicate and implement OHS policy;
Implement the General Administrative Regulations 2003 (documents), General Safety Regulations, Major Hazards Installation Regulations on site (e.g. records of incidents, investigation records, committee meetings), which include PPE, first aid, evacuation, training and procedures;
Develop and perform risk assessment on site emergency plan.
Train employees for emergencies and escape procedure;
Work with security officers from the service provider in monitoring and authorising entrance and departure of employees and visitors;
Observe and report suspects to police, or apprehend offenders when appropriate and detain them until police arrive and hand them over;
Collaborate with personnel from the private security in monitoring closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems;
Respond to emergency situations as they arise;
Ensure that private individuals / visitors are escorted when venturing into the office areas;
Ensure safekeeping and guarding of assets and property;
Collaborate with personnel from the private security to ensure that premises are secured through regular patrol and inspections;
Report and investigate theft, break-ins, disturbances cases in collaboration with the Police and the private security personnel;
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons, or unusual occurrences.
Please note: The above-mentioned salary range is all-inclusive and is only negotiable if the incumbent’s current earnings is above the entry level.
