PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE OF THE FREE STATE (PACOFS)
VACANCY
Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for the following vacant post:-
POSITION: MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
All-inclusive remuneration: R290 670 – R475 645 per annum
MIINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A 3 years’ Diploma or N6 with red seal certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and appropriate related qualification.
At least 3 years’ experience within the engineering field.
Understanding and working with Theatre equipment.
Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work irregular hours.
Valid driver’s licence.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Carry out inspections as per maintenance plan;
Conduct daily routine maintenance activities for all facilities;
Keep record of all installations;
Carry out inspections as per maintenance plan for stage machinery;
Draw and develop items from inception to final product by welding;
Complete log books, time sheets and related documentation;
Complete order requisitions;
Design layout for machines, according to engineering specifications;
Practical mechanical installations executed for stage performances;
Conduct on the job training and coaching;
Track, monitor and report on absenteeism.
Please note: The above-mentioned salary range is all-inclusive and is only negotiable if the incumbent’s current earnings is above the entry level.
