ARTISTIC COORDINATOR
All-Inclusive Salary R305 204 – R499 428
MIINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• NQF Level 6 / Three years’ diploma in Arts Administration or similar;
• 3 years’ experience in a theatre or similar environment;
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work irregular hours.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• Implement the creative decisions of the Artistic Manager and the Artistic team;
• Identify possible productions for the theatre and present proposals to the Artistic Manager and team;
• Producing and managing all productions in the venues;
• Draw up operating budgets for each project/play;
• Oversee the smooth running of rehearsals and to ensure that the needs and problem of directors and actors are dealt with and resolved;
• Ensure that set, costumes, sound effects and music designs meet the director’s requirements;
• Apply for performance licenses, negotiate a non-returnable advance author’s royalty and to ensure the contract between the author and the theatre is equitable;
• Co-ordinate all departments and stakeholders (technical, marketing and publicity) through the process of mounting a play and managing the process;
• Negotiate fees and contracts with all stakeholders (authors, directors, designers, actors) involved in the production.

Please note: The above-mentioned salary range is all-inclusive and the entry level is only negotiable if the incumbent’s current earning is above the entry level. Also note that the appointed person will sometimes be expected to work after hours and on weekends, but within the statutory number of hours, without additional compensation. Further note that this position does not qualify for overtime pay.
