Main purpose of the job:
Accountable for all workstreams inherent to Nett Revenue Realisation within the PepsiCo Southern Africa OU to include management of lawyers supporting within this pillar. The role is also accountable to lead all competition law related legal support to include proactive measures to educate and train staff (South Africa, COMESA & Export markets). The role is also responsible for all brand reputation, intellectual property and marketing and advertising legal support services and development and integration of differentiated Go-to-Market models. The Role will also be accountable for legal support to the Research & Development, IT, Finance, Tax and Control Functions and partner with the Commercial CoE and EMEA Competition Law CoE Leads in delivering projects, and workstreams within his ambit and all dispute resolution and litigation inherent to the foregoing portfolios.
 
Accountabilities:
  • Legal oversight of all brand workstreams include advertising, consumer-facing campaigns, insights, content creation and risk management.
  • Design and implementation of a Competition Law compliance plan and related legal support to analyses and mitigate potential risk (SA, COMESA and other Export markets). Lead any governmental engagements (requests for information, market inquiries, investigations, complaints).
  • Contracting requirements for all non-GP managed vendors across PepsiCo SA business.
  • Primary legal contact for Bokomo Botswana JV with accountability for governance, structures and integration (fit for purpose legal service structure).
  • Oversee the delivery of legal support inherent to the Research & Development Function to safeguard intellectual property inherent to product innovation.
  • Establish/maintain the legal framework for the Exports business ($27MM 46+ Countries) and Dried Fruit Exports (Agency Risk). Legal frameworks, delivery of strategic projects and mitigate risk.
  • Responsible for ensuring commercial functions are in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies including implementation of overall compliance audits. Performs or manages daily compliance risk identification. Inspects, reports, develops and implements preventative measures and internal controls. Creates and delivers employee training on competition law and other compliance matters inherent to the commercial ambit.
  • Responsible for advice/counsel across multiple areas of business, (marketing, business development, product development, etc.). Research, analyzes, and interprets proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of legal risk by conducting risk analysis and modeling. Structures, drafts, negotiates and/or approves legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.
  • Accountable to executives within the Marketing, Commercial, IT, Finance, Tax and Control functions to include management of external counsel to protect and mitigate risk.
  • Oversight and accountability for all dispute resolution and litigation to ensue within the foregoing portfolios.
  • Working with the Corporate Legal team, actively manage and lead decisions around the intellectual property of the business.
  • Designated Legal Approver for all committed spend ≤ $1MM in accordance with the Legal SoA Guardrails for PepsiCo SA.

Qualifications
  • Legal Degree (LLB)
  • 15 years plus post qualification experience
  • Competition Law Specialisation
  • Admitted Attorney in the High Court of South Africa in good standing
  • Previous experience in a FMCG or multinational company will be an advantage
  • Solid commercial acumen and excellent drafting and negotiation skills for high-value legal documents

What we're looking for: We're looking for an Engineer II: Bakeries Technical and Engineering based in Cape Town.  
The purpose of the role is to:
  • Set up, implement and drive Asset Care Program including PeMM audits and best practive implementation,
  • Enable plant & equipment reliability including the reduction of breakdowns
  • Drive line TE / NE performance improvement in line with bakeries Make productivity targets & productivity pipeline

The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in plant maintenance guiding and supporting  maintenance managers in the maintainence of plant and equipment, including shutdowns and projects execution. He/She They will support proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with bakery including Technical investigations and solutions. Responsibilities also involve ensuring quality and process improvement, equipment reliability & Performance, improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety standards, company and legal requirements in line with Pepsico EHS, MESS and L2O targets and projects. 
 
Accountabilities: 
Asset Care
  • Assist with and/or set up of maintenance policy, strategy and systems and the implementation thereof.
  • Professionally and systematically defines designs, develops, monitors and refines the Asset Maintenance Plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring the rollout and implementation thereof.
  • Manage overall preventative maintenance system and optimise plant & equipment reliability and performance
  • Suport the Bakery Maintenance managers in optimising preventative maintenance system and  plant & equipment reliability and performance
  • Act as Engineering gatekeeper on bakeries maintenance schedules, their suitabiltiy, effectiveness and execution
  • Provide technical stewardship to bakeries maintenance managers on maintaining equipment in the best condition for safety, quality and performance.

Plan Performance (TE/NE) - Breakdowns
  • Enabling in conjunction with the plan, the reduction of Unscheduled and Scheduled Downtime and speed losses of TE/NE
  • Engage with Plant Engineering by providing technical leadership & Subject Matter Expertise to drive Reliability Improvement.
  • Enable and drive Technical investigations and solutions, (RCA etc)
  • Manage maintenance performance scorecard
  • Support process optimisation, incl. damages reduction and implementation of latest technology
  • Support Bakery maintenance managers with internal / technical / process projects (incl. major shutdowns, breakdowns, machine installations
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues as well as damages reduction.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma within Engineering field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain.
  • FMCG experience is essential
  • Previous bakery experience will be advantageous
  • Strong maintenance background or experience – minimum of 5 years
  • Management experience in internal / technical / process projects (incl. major shutdowns, breakdowns, machine installations )
  • Sound understanding and application of preventative maintenance principles/practice

Qualifications
What will qualify you for the role:
  • Post Graduate degree in Financial Management Disciplines - CA(SA) is preferred

Creative Leadership & Execution
  • Lead concept-to-delivery execution of digital content across social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Create standout motion design assets, such as animated product reveals, loopable visuals, Instagram Story transitions, reels, and snackable content tailored for platform behaviours.
  • Translate strategic campaign objectives into compelling visual narratives, in collaboration with Brand Design Managers and cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and evolve Distinctive Brand Assets, ensuring platform-specific optimisation across ratios, responsiveness, and interactivity.
  • Design and animate digital content for various touchpoints, including eCommerce, CRM, internal brand launches, and global campaigns.
  • Take ownership of the visual identity for specific brands in the portfolio, working in collaboration with the Senior Design Managers and Design Director, marketing teams, insights teams and global design.

  • Create and maintain cohesive visual identities, including logos, guidelines, and scalable systems for digital execution.
  • Champion brand consistency across all digital outputs, adhering to and evolving global guidelines with both rigour and creative flair.
  • Ensure visual excellence in layout, typography, composition, and motion, with a focus on craft, clarity, and impact.
 
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback, support, and professional development within a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand designers, marketers, and external partners to bring integrated campaigns to life.
  • Present design solutions to stakeholders and internal teams, articulating rationale clearly and responding constructively to feedback.

  • Minimum 5 years’ mechanical maintenance experience; FMCG/FMEA experience advantageous.
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor or supervise team members.
  • Experience with SAP, Food Safe Welding, and milling equipment is an advantage.
