Responsibilities

We're looking for a Head Miller based at Gqeberha Mill to jon the team. Supervises the activities of a group of employees /controllers engaged in performing a variety of milling routines. Responsible for the training of new employees as well as the training in SHEQ procedures and principles.

 

Accountabilities

  • Ensuring that the team reaches our set targets (Material efficiency, True efficiency, Net efficiency and balancing of the Mill)
  • Compiling mill grist & controlling product quality parameters
  • Planning of production maintenance and roll change
  • Compile and execute milling & milling processes for shift
  • Training and guiding Miller assistants
  • Provide leadership and relieving Millers when required
  • Ensure house keeping
  • Control raw material & finished stock levels & rotation for shift
  • Ensuring wheat from Silos is cleaned and well-conditioned
  • Optimisation of Silo screens room machinery
  • Control and optimise people, mill, machinery and equipment - also maintain the mill, machinery and equipment

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Wheat milling course and trade test

What we're looking for: We're looking for a Specialist Artisan: Control & Automation based at Ceres Beverages Plant. Successful incumbent will primarily to ensure maximum plant uptime is achieved continuously and leads the maintenance and trouble shooting of control systems/instrumentation equipment as well as ensure that the factory meets its key KPIs which include but are not limited to volume and quality compliance, costs and downtime reduction.

 

Accountabilities

  • Performs instrumentation maintenance activities associated with process plant, packaging plant; palletizing plant, utilities and facilities.
  • Monitors daily downtime and institute corrective action plans to prevent recurrences of breakdowns.
  • Calibrates, repairs and maintains control gear/instrumentation and associated equipment to ensure operation within set standards;
  • Perform root cause analysis to address asset performance problems and/or reduce cost;
  • Maintains PLCs and SCADA systems and networks (hardware and software) and perform changes/modification as required;
  • Continuously evaluates the process control philosophy and initiate improvement actions in order to achieve asset performance targets;
  • Implements continuous improvement on all electronic equipment in the plant.
  • Assist in commissioning of modifications/projects;
  • Ensures proper documentation of changes/modifications and perform internal audits;
  • Fault finding and repair of electronic systems to card level.
  • Fault finding and repairs of electronic cards down to component level.
  • Ensure availability of spares for all electronic/control systems in the plant.
  • Accurately and timeously reports process equipment deviations to stakeholders to meet/improve equipment availability and reliability targets.
  • Ensure proper back-up of all PLC programs and maintain records of all upgrades.
  • Ensure the safe operations of process control systems.
  • Audit of control system equipment.
  • Resolve daily plant instrumentation issues and complete root cause analysis
  • Ensure all back-up software is up to date and process control systems on the plant are functional
  • Calibration of process equipment.
  • Complete required testing and safety checks on all instrumentation equipment.
  • Conducts all scheduled maintenance within required timeframes
  • Performs all emergency electronic maintenance
  • Updates and Reviews documentation relating to work done and or changes in original specifications
  • Signs off on alternative systems suppliers based on equipment performance.

 

Qualifications

  • Qualified dual trade artisan with Trade Test Certificates in Instrumentation and Electrical
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in the Production/FMCG environment.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience in control systems – SCADA and PLCs, ACDC drives and SCADA systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation, HAZOP studies, PIDs and quality standards
  • Working experience with industrial communication methodologies (RS-232, ASI, Devicenet, Ethernet)
  • Extensive experience with operator interfaces; and energy devices such as drives; servo drives; thyristors; soft starters etc.

What we're looking for: We're looking for a Specialist Artisan based at Ceres Beverage Plant. Successful incumbent will primarily to ensure that all plant equipment is functioning or operating at high levels of reliability and are maintained periodically as scheduled and all breakdowns are resolved soonest in order to ensure maximum plant availability as well as ensuring that the factory meets its key KPIs and supply the market with Pepsico products which include but are not limited to volume and quality compliance, costs and downtime reduction. Ability to coach operator, provide innovation for cost savings and be accountable for MPS, SA on respective production lines. 

 

Accountabilities

Maintain the machine to reach high reliability, safety and quality standard

  • Performs Instrumentation/ Electrical maintenance activities associated with plant process and packaging plan
  • Must be willing to do Mechanical work if required

What we're looking for: We're looking for a Maintenance Manager based at our Ceres Beverages Plant. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the maintenance function as well technical and complex projects within the beverage’s environment. Ensures that the project is within technical quality specifications and that the completion is on schedule within budgetary constraints. Plans implementation of the projects and maintenance. We're looking for an EHS Coordinator based at our Atlantis Cereals Plant to assist the EHS Site Manager and site management to ensure employee safety by ensuring that all risks in the workplace are identified, evaluated and controlled, in a manner that also complies with the OHS Act and PEPSICO international standards. What we're looking for: We're looking for an Engineer II: Bakeries Technical and Engineering based in Cape Town.  

 

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Set up, implement and drive Asset Care Program including PeMM audits and best practice implementation,
  • Enable plant & equipment reliability including the reduction of breakdowns
  • Drive line TE / NE performance improvement in line with bakeries Make productivity targets & productivity pipeline

The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in plant maintenance guiding and supporting  maintenance managers in the maintenance of plant and equipment, including shutdowns and projects execution. He/She They will support proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with bakery including Technical investigations and solutions. Responsibilities also involve ensuring quality and process improvement, equipment reliability & Performance, improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety standards, company and legal requirements in line with Pepsico EHS, MESS and L2O targets and projects. 

 

Accountabilities: 

Asset Care

  • Assist with and/or set up of maintenance policy, strategy and systems and the implementation thereof.
  • Professionally and systematically defines designs, develops, monitors and refines the Asset Maintenance Plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring the rollout and implementation thereof.
  • Manage overall preventative maintenance system and optimise plant & equipment reliability and performance
  • Suport the Bakery Maintenance managers in optimising preventative maintenance system and  plant & equipment reliability and performance

Plan Performance (TE/NE) - Breakdowns

  • Enabling in conjunction with the plan, the reduction of Unscheduled and Scheduled Downtime and speed losses of TE/NE
  • Engage with Plant Engineering by providing technical leadership & Subject Matter Expertise to drive Reliability Improvement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma within Engineering field.

Main Purpose of the role: 

  • The main purpose is primarily to ensure maximum plant uptime is achieved continuously.
  • The individual must be a leader in maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Qualifications

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

  • Expertise in credit lending principles and operational best practices across Retail, Wholesale, and Corporate Business.
  • Strong understanding of relevant credit legislation (NCA), AML/KYC, POPIA, and conduct risk.
  • Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teams, with strong judgment under pressure.
  • Mindset for operational excellence, process discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Customer and agent-centric approach balanced with robust risk standards.                                                                                                                     

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Planning, prioritisation and execution discipline.
  • Risk mindset and ethical judgement; ability to challenge effectively and escalate when needed.
  • Change leadership and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Collaboration and influencing across functions (including MBSA interface).

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial services, ideally in vehicle and asset finance (Retail Credit, Wholesale agent finance, Corporate Business credit).
  •  NCA accreditation (or ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe).
  • Wholesale/Commercial credit training/experience advantageous.
  • Leadership and people management training advantageous.
