Opportunities exist for Experienced Medical Technicians/Technologists/Laboratory Scientists to join the team in the Histology department at our Bloemfontein branch. We are seeking individuals with a proven track record of displaying Histology competence and who has a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.
Key Competency Requirements
- 3-year Biomedical Technology diploma/4-year Medical Laboratory Scientist degree or Medical Technician Certificate in Histology
- Current registration with the HPCSA in Histology
- Computer literate with Meditech knowledge is advantageous
- Knowledge/understanding Material Management system
- 3-5 years’ Histology experience post HPCSA registration
- Experience in technical procedure development and implementation
- Experience in maintaining QA Systems

Key Competency Requirements
- 3-year Biomedical Technology diploma/4-year Medical Laboratory Scientist degree or Medical Technician Certificate qualification in Microbiology. ClinPath qualification may be considered if the candidate has extensive experience in Microbiology.
- Current registration with the HPCSA in Microbiology/Clinical Pathology
- Extensive knowledge regarding susceptibilities (CLSI, EUCAST and BSAC guidelines) and parasitology.
- Relevant business/laboratory management qualification is highly advantageous
- Intermediate computer literacy (LIMS, Microsoft Office)
- 8 years’ experience post HPCSA registration as a Medical Technician/Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist in a Microbiology environment
- General management/supervisory experience in a Microbiology/Clinical Pathology setting is advantageous
- Experience in QC review processes and experience in maintaining QA systems including QAD and SANAS audits
- Experience in technical procedure development and implementation
- Experience in displaying leadership abilities including delegating and team building
- Experience in staff training

- Identify and manage the needs of all internal and external stakeholders in order to prioritise and optimise patient care.
