DEPARTMENTAL MISSION: To manage and drive sound employee relations within the Group. 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs):
1. Contribute to the development and review of the Group HCM strategy.
2. Develop ER policies, codes, practices, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Facilitate establishment of collective bargaining structures.
4. Review and negotiate collective agreements.
5. Represent the organisation in the relevant employer organisation and bargaining council in the rail industry.
6. Represent the organisation at external dispute resolution institutions (e.g. CCMA).
7. Communicate, monitor, and evaluate strike contingency plans and implementation of picketing rules.
8. Conduct regular audits to enforce compliance with ER policies, codes, practices etc.
9. Evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures to minimise conflict and associated risk.
10. Report on ER matters.
11. Develop and implement efficiency measures to ensure optimum capacity utilisation and performance.

8 years employee relations experience of which minimum 3 years should be at a management level.

1. Contribute to the development and review of the Group HCM strategy.
2. Develop EW plans, processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Develop health & wellness calendar of events (e.g. wellness days, sporting events).
4. Compile and ensure dissemination of communiqués on health and wellness.
5. Coordinate programs/initiatives aimed at creating awareness on Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide.
6. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through data analysis, employee feedback, participation rates, and provide recommendations for improvement.
7. Determine the section’s priorities and ensure effective allocation of resources to these priorities.
8. Manage human, physical and financial resources in line with the organisational policies, processes and procedures.

• Valid Professional Quantity Surveyor (“Pr. QS”) registration with the SA Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (“SACQSP”).
• Valid Professional Construction Project Manager (“Pr. CPM”) registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (“SACPCMP”).
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/ Finance (NQF 7)
• Valid membership/registration with Project Management South Africa (“PMSA”).
• Valid membership/registration with an appropriate and industry-recognized international professional body for Quantity Surveyors such as the Royal Institute of Quantity Surveyors (RICS).
EXPERIENCE
• 10 Years of experience in leading and/or managing and/or advising multidisciplinary teams and/or specialists and/or clients in the transportation sector
• A strong commercial and financial background with a minimum of 10 years of specific experience in leading and/or managing complex and multidisciplinary mega rail signalling and/or telecommunication contracts/projects.
