SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER (12-MONTH CONTRACT)
SALARY GROUP: Middle/Senior Management
LOCATION: PRASA Corporate

DEPARTMENTAL MISSION: To render network engineering services within the Group.
OUTPUTS:
1. Provision of network engineering services
• Identify, gather and understand network and connectivity requirements from systems owners.
• Develop solutions that meet system owners’ requirements.
• Evaluate designs to determine the most efficient and effective solutions.
• Monitor the network to ensure optimum performance, reliability and availability.
• Configure, install and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices.
2. Participation in network projects
• Lead network technology upgrade or expansion projects including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing.
• Coordinate activities with 3rd party vendors and service providers.
3. Development of technical documents and reporting
• Contribute to the development and review of a roadmap for the technologies in scope, including technology absorption and risk assessments, technology refresh, migration, and retirement strategies.
• Architectural development and advisory
• Maintain complete technical documentation (Low-level designs, topology maps, data-flow diagrams)
• Report on and provide recommendations on improvements to network capacity, availability, and scalability.
4. Network Planning and DR contingency Planning
• Plan and design functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Develop Disaster recovery and contingency planning.
• Develop ICT technology specifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• National Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) professional certification such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), HCIP (Huawei Certified ICT Professional)
EXPERIENCE
• 5 years of Network architecture experience (able to build configurations and solutions which conform to standards without guidance)
