JOB TITLE: Senior Manager: Project Support Office (PSO) 
SALARY GROUP: Senior Management

Mission
To implement multiple capital projects within set parameters by implementing sound processes systems and procedures within PMU.
 

KPA:
• Management of Compliance to Programme, Portfolio and Project Management.
• Compilation and Management of Capital Expenditure Budgets.
• Management all CAPEX payments, processes and ensuring payments made accurately and timely.
• Monitoring Project Progress and Performance / Reporting progress of all projects to sponsors and central management.
• Measurement and Management of the quarterly cash flow projections.
• Capitalisation – Ensure Capitalisations of all completed projects.
• Provision of general administrative and managerial support of the PMU Head Office.
• Ensure implementation of best project management practices in the organization.
• Organising or carrying out project management training.
• Reviewing staff for their performance in project management/administrative roles.
• Making recommendations to sponsors and central management.
• Management of legal and compliance issues in CAPEX projects.

 
Knowledge: Public Finance Management Act 1999; Preferential Procurement Policy Act 5 of 2000; Broad Based Black Economic Act 53 of 2003; Construction Industry Development Board Act; Basic Conditions of Employment Act; PMBOK (nine knowledge areas); Project activity coordination; NEC, JBCC and PROCSA contracts; and MS Projects cycles. Practical knowledge of various legislations regulating the built environment industry.

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12; 4-year degree/B Tech in Quantity Surveying/Architecture/Civil Engineering/Construction Management/Building Science/ Town Planning/Property Studies; and Formal project management qualification.
Professional registration with SACPCMP/ECSA /Built environment Councils is an added advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years relevant Project Management experience in the construction and/or property industry is required.
7 years’ experience in managing capital projects in the private and public sector
Experience in the development and management of business and project plans
