The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is established in terms of section 30B of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, to dispose of pension fund complaints lodged in terms of the Act in a procedurally fair, economical, and expeditious manner.
 
Job Description
The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant who is results-driven, passionate about service delivery, thrive under pressure, and is a team player with high levels of professionalism.
 
Required Competencies:

Responsibilities:
  • Record and track all closed files on the PFA/Respond system
  • Forward closed files to the Filing Clerk for archiving
  • Format, align, and type draft and long determinations for submission to the Adjudicator
  • Compile determination filing sheets for Adjudicator sign-off
  • Collect and compile team statistical reports (monthly/weekly/quarterly/annual)
  • Manage the Team Leader’s diary and carry out general PA duties as required
  • Answer and attend to incoming calls for the Case Management Team
  • Implement administrative instructions from the Team Leader efficiently
  • Ensure meetings/events requiring refreshments are well catered for
  • Perform general administrative and office support functions to ensure smooth team operations.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Requirement: Matric/Grade 12
  • Preferred Requirement: 1 years’ experience in a Legal or Pension Fund environment
  • 3 years’ proven experience and expertise in Office Administration
  • Knowledge of correspondence, documentation management, and general administration
  • Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong planning, organisational, and coordination skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
