OFFICE OF HEALTH STANDARDS COMPLIANCE (OHSC)
 
The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) is a public entity established in line with the requirements of the National Health Amendment Act, 2013 (Act 12 of 2013) with core objectives of protecting and promoting the health and safety of the users of health services through monitoring and enforcing compliance with prescribed norms and standards, as well as disposing of complaints from users. The posts will be filled in line with the OHSC's Employment Equity Plan.

Protecting and prowling the health and safety of the users of health services
 
Assistant Directors (Persons Assisting Inspectors) - 20 Posts on a six month fix term contract
(Ref No: 15/2021)
Salary: R477 090 per annum (plus 37% in lieu of benefits)

Requirements: • A three-year bachelor's degree or diploma in Nursing or three-year Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medical Practice or equivalent • A current practicing certificate with the Nursing Council of South Africa as a Nurse or with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Clinical Associate • A minimum of 5 years' experience in direct patient care (Primary Health Care and/or Hospital care).
 
Skills required: • Computer literacy (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), report writing, problem-solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills • Good communication skills (written and verbal) • Must be prepared to travel extensively and frequently and be willing to work outside the normal working hours • A valid driver's license.
 
Duties: • Planning for inspections and re-inspections • Assist Inspectors in the conduction of inspections and re-inspection visits to health establishments • Validate and complete inspection reports and recommendations • Manage and account for the use of resources • Manage and mitigate risks.
 
 
 
Administration Officers (10 posts) on a 6 month fixed term contract

Salary: R261 372 per annum (plus 37% in lieu of benefits)
 
Requirements: • A three-year bachelor's degree or diploma in Office Administration or related field • At least three years' experience in office administration including experience in data capturing and analysis • Planning, organising, and interpersonal skills are required as well as filing, archiving, computer (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook) and communication (written and verbal) skills • A valid driver's license.
 
Duties: • Administer plans and schedules for general health care compliance inspections of health establishments. • Administer scheduling and preparation processes for inspection visits • Provide administrative support for the scheduled inspection of health establishments and reporting of outcomes and work reports and claims • Capture and quality control ail data from compliance inspections • Administer compliance inspection information, reports and notices • Maintain inspection database and filing system • Arrange accommodation and travelling for team members with travel administrator.
