POST: PROFESSIONAL NURSE GRADE 1 (GENERAL NURSING)
REF: NWH 01/2020
SALARY: R256 905 .00 p.a. (plus benefits)
CENTRE: VARIOUS HOSPITALS & SUB-DISTRICTS
REQUIREMENTS: Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Current proof of registration with South African Nursing Council must be attached. An understanding on nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
DUTIES: Provide comprehensive nursing service according to scope of practice. Help with supervision and performance and evaluate junior staff members. Implement appropriate measures and system to ensure quality patient care. Ensure the implementation of, and adherence to Patient Rights Charter and Batho Pele Principles. Educate staff and patients quality patient. Work closely with the community. Keep concise and legible records and ensure that Nurses do likewise. Manage medication. Participate in the quality improvement programme. Monitor admission and discharge criteria. Facilitate and monitor patient's health education programme. Facilitate effective discharge process. Ensure proper record-keeping.
POST: SPEECH THERAPIST AND AUDIOLOGIST GRADE 1

CENTRE: VARIOUS DISTRICT HOSPITALS & SUB-DISTRICTS
REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in Speech Therapist and Audiologist. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist must be attached.
DUTIES: Assess and manage paediatric and adult patients who have developmental or acquired speech, language, voice, feeding and swallowing, or hearing difficulties inwards, as out-patients and during community outreach. Supervise students and community service Speech Therapist and \ or Audiologists. Perform administrative tasks related to the Department as per delegation of Head of Department. Promote the profession to the community and other healthcare workers and community members.

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in Dietetics. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Dietician must be attached.
DUTIES: Nutrition counseling: Establish and implement guidelines to promote and maintain healthy nutritional practices. Therapeutic feeding: Apply dietary measures as part of the treatment of a patient referred or in consultation with a registered Medical Practitioner. Group feeding: Ensure provision of food. Establish guideline for the provision of suitable nutrition in the hospital for patients. Supervise, support and evaluate subordinates and development of staff. Ensure efficient and effective management of resources, including management of budget. Administration, including collecting, compiling and presenting statistical data and monthly reports.

REQUIREMENTS: Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist. Current proof of registration of with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist must be attached.
DUTIES: Provide pharmaceuticals services which entail ensuring proper surveillance of medicine and consumption. Ensure strict ordering of medicine and controlling budget. Oversee pharmaceutical stock control. Provide expert advice to medical staff on effective and economic usage of drugs. Train Pharmacy Assistants and Interns. Supervise the compounding and pre-packing of pharmaceutical products. Manage resources in pharmacy. Monitor and evaluate Pharmaceutical Services.
POST: DIAGNOSTIC RADIOGRAPHER GRADE 1

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council South Africa (HPCSA) in Radiography. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Diagnostic Radiographer must be attached.
DUTIES: Select the exposure factor with due cognized of all factors. Exposed and process and ensure X-ray are taken and meet high professional standards. Make sure that regulations pertaining to radiation, protection & safety are adhered to and that the budget is controlled. Receive cognized of the traumatic and pathological condition that may be present and accept responsibility for the patient. Supervise sub-ordinates. Ensure regular services of X-ray, equipment's. Perform any other duty that may be delegated by the supervisor.
POST: PHYSIOTHERAPIST GRADE 1

DUTIES: Assess clients with physiotherapy needs using specialized skills and execute plan of intervention. Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds. Refer patients to other multidisciplinary team members. Properly manage consumable assets and assistive devices according to policy and procedures. Attend and offer in-service training. Assist with administrative tasks to ensure a quality physiotherapy service. Attend courses for the professional development and to ensure quality.

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in Occupational Therapy. Current proof of registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa as Occupational Therapist must be attached.
DUTIES: Assist and treat in- and outpatients. Participate in in-service training programmes and continue professional development according to the regulations of HPCSA. Supervise/evaluate subordinates. Collect data and keep records, manage information and write reports. Control the identification of needs for Therapeutic programmes and the execution thereof. Develop and review departmental policies, procedure and protocols and ensure adherence applicable to Health and provincial quality assurance measure in own area of work. Provide an occupational therapy service to acute, chronic and forensic psychiatric patients, and administration duties related to patient care. Work in multi-disciplinary team.
POST: MEDICAL OFFICER GRADE 1

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Medical Practitioner. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Medical Practitioner must be attached. A valid work permit for Non -South African must be attached. A valid driver's license. Good communication, Organizational and conflict resolution skills.
DUTIES: Manage emergency/casualty care/trauma, wards and medico-legal cases. Perform basic surgical procedures as required in the Maternity Department and by anaesthesiology. Support Quality Improvement Primary Healthcare. Available for calls after hours (including weekends and holidays). Supervise Senior and Community Service Medical Officers. Ensure implementation of Batho Pele Principles and Patients' Rights. Participate in clinical audits. Attend clinical meetings and others as will be indicated. Render clinical services as in a Level 1 & 2 hospital in accordance with the formulated clinical programme.

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Dentist. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa must be attached. A valid work permit for Non-South African must be attached. A valid driver's license. DUTIES: Provide Oral Health Clinical Services. Ensure functional integration of oral health services into primary of oral health services into primary health care. Ensure effective management of finances and assets. Administration of the unit. People management and empowerment.
POST: CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST GRADE 1

SALARY: R 713 361.00 p.a (All-inclusive Package)

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Psychologist in a relevant registration category (e.g Clinical, Counselling, Educational, Industrial, Research Psychology). Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Psychologist in any of the Identified registration categories. Good interpersonal relationship and positive attitude towards patients and colleagues.
DUTIES: Evaluate by means of interviews, psychometric tests and rehabilitation by means of psychotherapeutic treatment to persons with psychiatric deviations. Handle Psychiatric patients with medical conditions. Identify patients who could benefit from psychological intervention. Participate in multi-disciplinary team. Deal with the Cognitive and behavioural aspects of patients. Manage and contribute towards planning of the psychology unit. Implement quality assurance measures in the department. Plan and manage interns according to the Council's expectations. Conduct various kinds of therapies and write reports.
POST: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER GRADE I

REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in Environmental Health. Current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Environmental Health Practitioner must be attached.
DUTIES: Coordinate Sub-District Environmental Health Services. Facilitate
the implementation of Environmental Health Policies and Strategies. Manage Environmental Health System. Work closely with other stake-holders within and outside the Department. Participate in Environmental Health Impact Assessment and Malaria control. Prevent communicable Diseases. Ensure safety of facilities. Enforce International Health Regulations requirements and any other duties linked to the post.
