Director: Nursing Practice and Nursing Education
Salary: R1 057 326.00 p.a. (All-inclusive SMS Package)

Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing registered with the SANC • A postgraduate qualification in Nursing will be an added advantage • Diploma/Degree in Nursing Education and Administration Diploma in any post basic qualification Diploma/Degree in basic nursing qualification • Pre-entry certificate for Senior Management Service (SMS) as endorsed by National School of Government (NSG) • Twelve (12) years’ clinical experience in the nursing environment or nursing education at middle management or equivalent level and five (5) years’ experience as a Nurse Manager in Administration, Education, or Primary Health Care
• Knowledge of statutory body requirements as well as legislative framework governing the practice of nursing and midwifery, general public service administrative policies that have relevance to nursing practice as well as labour relations and employment equity issues on the practice of nursing and education • Strategic priorities of the Department of Health and as enshrined within the National Health Act • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act • Good communication (written and verbal), computer literacy, managerial, project and programme management skills • Ability to work under pressure. Duties: • Develop relevant policy guidelines for nurses, midwives and nursing colleges, based on their scopes of practice • Provide leadership and support provincial development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as guided by the new scope of practice • Liaise with statutory bodies and other relevant stakeholders in the development and update of the regulatory framework to institutionalize nursing practice and nursing education • Develop relationship with all stakeholders that deal with nursing practice and nursing education matters so as to improve quality of care at all levels and nursing trainings • Manage financial and human resources for the Directorate: Nursing Practice, nursing Education including continued advocacy to ensure availability of adequate resources to create positive practice environments and learning in all districts.

Director: District Hospital Services

Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health/ Administration/ Management (NQF level 7) • Five (5) years’ experience in Middle Management level • Knowledge of Finance Management and Public Service Statutes and Prescripts • Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Service (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government • Sound knowledge of health related legislation and government policy on HIV/AIDS. Competencies: * Strategic capability and leadership * People management and empowerment * Programme and project management * Financial management * Change management * Knowledge management * Service delivery innovation * Problem solving and analysis * Conflict management * Client orientation Customer care and communication • Computer literacy * A valid driver’s license.
Duties: • Provision of strategic direction in the delivery of Quality Assurance Program in district hospitals • Provision of strategic direction in maximising service delivery access • Support district hospitals in preparation for an effective response to the National Health Insurance (NHI) implementation • Ensure effective and efficient management of finance, audits and grants towards growth of district hospital services • Provision of strategic direction in ensuring capacity building within district hospitals • Oversee clinical support services across district hospitals services as to create a conducive environment for delivery of quality clinical services.

Director: Risk and Ethics Management

Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with Accounting/Auditing as a major (NQF level 7) • Five (5) years’ experience in Middle Management level • Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Service (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government • Sound knowledge of relevant prescripts as well as understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service e.g. Labour Relations Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, Municipal Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations and Guidelines, Public Service Anti-Corruption & Fraud Prevention Measures, Government Accounting & Financial System, Departmental Policies, Government Structures Principles and Practices of Financial Accounting, Financial Planning Budgeting Principles, Methodologies and Practice of Costing. Competencies: * Strategic capability and leadership * People management and empowerment * Programme and project management * Financial management * Change management * Knowledge management * Service delivery innovation * Problem solving and analysis * Conflict management * Client orientation * Customer care and communication * Computer literacy * A valid driver’s license.
Duties: • Provide leadership and strategic direction in risk and ethics management • Manage and oversee the development, review, implementation and maintenance of effective and efficient risk and ethics management policies, strategies, and systems • Conduct risk assessment and compliance audit of the department • Provide technical support to the internal Audit Steering Committee • Liaise with Internal and External Audit on audit assignments • Coordinate the Audit Cluster Committee.
