Deputy Chairperson: Risk Management Committee

The Department hereby invites suitably qualified persons to serve on the Risk Management Committee of the Department. The Department seeks to appoint one (01) person as a Chairperson and one (01) person as a Deputy Chairperson to the Risk Management Committee for a period of three (03) years.
 
Compensation: • Compensation shall be in accordance with rates determined for Audit Committee members as set out by National Treasury • All other refundable expenses are based on National Treasury guidelines.
 
 
Requirements: • At least 05 years' experience in risk management, finance, internal or external audit, corporate governance and information communication technology • An NQF level 06 qualification or higher in Accounting/Auditing/Risk Management or Public Administration • Exposure in serving on oversight structures in the public sector and registration as a Certified Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor, Chartered Accountant or other recognised professional accreditation will be an added advantage • Demonstrate the ability to dedicate rime to the Risk Management Committee of the Department • Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Public Sector Risk Management Framework, Public Sector Anti-Corruption  Strategies, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Code of Conduct • Thorough knowledge of risk management principles and their application • Intimate understanding of the Department's mandate and operations and an ability to act independently and objectively in the interest of the Department • Possesses high levels of integrity. 
 

Duties: • Assist the Accounting Officer discharge his risk management responsibilities by reviewing and recommending for approval the risk management policies and risk registers • Review the Departmental risk management system and recommend improvements to the Accounting Officer • Discharge all duties on the Risk Management Committee Charter and the Risk Management Strategy.
