Requirements: • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) as recognised by SAQA in Public Management/Administration/Business Management or equivalent qualification • 5 years’ experience at senior managerial level in spheres of strategy and governance • Certificate in Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme (SMS pre-entry programme) • A valid driver’s license.
 
Expert knowledge of: • The Public Sector and its regulatory and legislative framework, Public policy development, Monitoring and evaluation, Service delivery improvement practices, inter-sectoral and inter-governmental protocols and etiquette, departmental initiatives and programs.
 
Core management competencies: • Excellent and demonstrative management skills and a track record in the preparation, implementation and management of strategic, operational and financial plans and projects 
• Ability to interact and liaise with a diverse audience range • Advanced skills in:- Change/diversity management, Research, Policy formulation, Conflict management • Exceptional planning skills with regard to:- Resource allocation, Projects, Statistical forecasting, Application of policies and procedures • Strategic capability and leadership skills • Client orientation and customer focus • Financial management • People management and empowerment • Communication • Willingness to work irregular hours and adhere to tight deadlines • Proven report-writing and presentation skills • Proven computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Key performance areas include, inter alia: • Manage legal services • Manage and facilitate the provision of information communication technology services • Manage the provision of communication and event management services • Manage and coordinate the implementation of strategic planning management services • Manage and monitor security management and auxiliary services • Chief Directorate administration, management and control.
