ASSISTANT DIRECTOR:  GOVERNANCE
• Salary: R376 596.00 + 37% in lieu of benefits • REF: NKC/2019/05/01
• (1 year Contract) Post is aligned to the College Council Term of Office

Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent certificate plus an appropriate National Diploma / Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an administrative professional or meeting / event planning profession. Leadership and Management Development expertise will be an added advantage. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook) and Internet Explorer. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisational and event planning skills, excellent negotiation skills and strong phone demeanour. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Ability to work Independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Understanding of legislative frameworks relevant to WET Colleges. A valid driver's licence.
 
 
Duties: Provide administrative and secretariat support to the College Council, including drafting correspondence and making travel arrangements. Ensuring College Council complies with relevant legislation. Establishing procedures for sound governance. Advising on developments in governance issues. Formulate the Council meetings agenda with the College Principal and advice on its contents. Ensure that all agenda items and supporting documents are in place. Ensure the provision of adequate administrative resources to facilitate the working of the Councils. Establish, maintain and review policies for the Council and ensure that all statutory requirements for good governance are discharged. Responsible for planning, delivering and monitoring responsibilities of the College Council.
 
 
 
 
 
PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL
• Salary: R257 508.00
(Level 7: • REF: NKC/2019/05/02 • Central Office
 
Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate or NCV Certificate (Level 4) or N3 Certificate plus National N Diploma or NCV Certificate (Level 4) in Management Assistant / Secretarial Diploma or Office Management. A minimum of 3 years' experience in rendering administrative and secretarial support to management. Knowledge of filing systems, document tracking, storage and retrieval. 
 
Competencies needed:Planning and organising skills. Ability to work independently and in a team, Interpersonal skills, Problem-solving skills, typing skills. Communication (written, verbal and liaising) skills. MS Office, Telephone etiquette. Ability to work under pressure and be able to cope with a high workload.
 
Duties:Provide secretarial support to the College Principal; Answer and screen calls; Liaising with staff and clients on behalf of the Principal; Arrange and coordinate meetings, workshops, appointments and provide administrative support; Managing the Principal's diary both manually and electronically; Arrange travel and accommodation logistics for the College Principal; Compile and submit travel claims and subsistence claims; Render basic quality assurance on standard documents coming and leaving the office; Scan, fax, copy, manage and draft correspondence; Take notes, keep minutes of the meetings and do typing for College Principal; File copies of all documentation; Tracking of documents; Type letters, submissions, memos, reports; Manage the filing system of the College Principal and retrieval of documents as and when required; Render general support to the office of the College Principal.
