SAFETY AND SECURITY DIRECTORATE
CALL CENTRE OPERATOR
(TRAFFIC AND LICENSING SERVICES)
POSITION CODE: 250650
TASK Grade 7 (R287 928 – R400 284 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)
Qualifications and experience required:
- Appropriate level of secondary qualification.
- Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
Key attributes and competencies:
- The requirement to update and communicate information necessitates an understanding of general clerical/switchboard applications and procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and coordination skills.
Job purpose:
Attending to tasks associated with the operations of the Call Centre; receiving, responding and/or transferring messages and information to facilitate and coordinate specific action or intervention and providing general office clerical support to enable accomplishment of specific service delivery related requirements and/or instructions for the Driver’s Licence Section.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

SENIOR CLERK
(PROPERTY AND PLANNING)

TASK Grade 6 (R255 768 – R355 584 per annum)

Qualifications and experience required:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
- Two to five years’ relevant experience.
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
Key attributes and competencies:
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
- Good interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Advising members of the public of procedures to be followed.
- Issuing, receiving and verifying information recorded on procedural forms.
- Interacting with the applicant regarding outstanding/incomplete documentation and/or information checking the accuracy of information.
- Preparing/drafting items for standard committees.
- Preparing, placement of adverts and/or written notifications.
- Referring applications for re-zoning, subdivision, special consent, departures, lease and sales to relevant departments.
- Liaising with attorneys pertaining to status of transfer of municipal owned properties.
- Obtaining status reports from applicable authorities.
Job purpose:
Performing administrative tasks associated with administration of property, advising members of the community on land matters, and the processing and updating of land information in respect of purchasing, leasing, acquisition, rezoning, subdivisions, special consents, and removal of restrictions, attending to and/or forwarding disputes, queries/complaints to the Property Management Officer for attention and resolution and communicating the outcome, and ensuring efficient utilisation and development of Council land in compliance with the Land Use Planning Ordinance and Town Planning Schemes.
