ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, TOURISM AND AGRICULTURE DIRECTORATE 
PRODUCT SUPPORT OPERATIONS PRACTITIONER
(TOURISM MARKETING)
POSITION CODE: 210200
TASK Grade 12 (R408 432 – R567 852 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required: 
  • National Diploma in Information Technology (three year qualification) or equivalent.
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License.
  • Two years' experience in a tourism destination marketing environment which include:
  • exposure in using research insights and analytics in a Digital Marketing environment
  • experience with Content Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Advertising, Social Media Marketing and Advertising and other digital marketing systems.
  • Experience in Database development, maintenance and integrity checks.
  • Must be an expert with Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ Access) applications.
  • Must have a good understanding of Local Government systems.
  • Strong background in Content Management Systems and Digital Marketing.

  • Must have good people and administrative skills.
  • Must have good negotiation skills - It will be required of the incumbent to negotiate on all levels in terms of destination marketing, technological and research related matters.
  • Attention to details is crucial - The incumbent will be responsible for research data and reporting that requires great attention to detail.
  • Must have good communication skills - It will be required of the incumbent to be able to communicate in English on all levels both internally and externally.
  • Confidentiality - The position deals with confidential information and data collected from various stakeholders and stored on digital systems.
  • Working Hours - Due to the nature of the industry overtime might be required on weekends and public holidays especially where tourism events and functions are organized. 
 
Job purpose: 
To deliver product marketing and research support and implement tourism services systems and tools.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
