PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTORATE
PRINCIPAL CONSERVATION OFFICER (SETTLERS PARK)
POSITION CODE: 210119
TASK GRADE: 12 (R408 432 – R567 852 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:
· National Diploma in Conservation Management / Natural Science.
· Valid code B Drivers’ Licence.
· Registered Peace Officer.
· Pest Control Certificate.
· Skipper Licence (SAMSA).
· Three to four years’ experience
Key attributes and competencies:
- Must be physically fit.
- Good communications skills, negotiations and Supervisory skills.
- Bilingualism.
- Required to work outside normal working hours and planned overtime
Job purpose:
Performs tasks/activities associated with the collection, storage and disposal of domestic/garden/trade refuse in a designated district through performance of specific operational function, community education and awareness campaigns, performance of supervisory and administrative functions supporting and accomplishment of service delivery objectives encapsulated in the Integrated Development Plan.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, a medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
