OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER
CHIEF AUDITOR
(INTERNAL AUDIT)
POSITION CODE: 210140
TASK Grade 14 (R517 584 – R719 580 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification.
- Five to six years’ relevant experience, preferably in a public sector – local government environment.
- Must be certified as an Internal Auditor.
- Must have Professional Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Valid Code EB Driver’s License.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
Key attributes and competencies:
· Content of the job design requires the knowledge, understanding and application of internal and other auditing processes.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
· Report-writing skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
· Analytical and co-ordination skills.
· Strong leadership skills with an exceptional high degree of confidentiality is essential.
Job purpose:
Co-ordinating and controlling the key functions associated with Internal Audit and Risk Management through research/analysis, development, drafting of audit specifications, evaluating the control, risk management and governance processes within directorates, recommending improvements on control weaknesses.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, a medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
