ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: GENERAL MANUFACTURING AND RENEWABLE INDUSTRIES
(TRADE AND INVESTMENT)

TASK Grade 14 (R487 140 – R677 256 per annum)

Qualifications and experience required:  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum of five years' relevant experience
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Code B driver's license.

Job purpose: 
  • This position is responsible for establishing and administering a program that focuses on environmental, economic and social sustainability. The Assistant Director will work with internal and external contacts to develop policies and oversee projects that benefit the long-term industrialization of the Nelson Mandela Bay economy.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for industry support and promoting investments within the manufacturing and renewable energy industry. This may include presenting opportunities in a wide range of manufacturing and renewable energy projects such as assembling, processing, wind farm development, small scale hydro, biomass, solar and tidal. Experience in the investment promotion environment including an involvement in development issues covering business cases etc. is desirable.



As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, a medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
