MANAGER: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for leading and overseeing the compilation, development and analysis of complex data sets received from various data sources into the team. Ensuring that reports and dashboards are compiled in line with the identified requirements. Monitoring quality of work delivered within the agreed SLA’s, as well as managing the identified technologies required to support business in making informed decisions on data received.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Execution
• Provide strategic input relating to the overall strategy of the ICT department.
• Ensure implementation of strategic initiatives across the identified areas.
• Manage the delivery of the identified deliverables within the various teams, in line with budget and time constraints.
Stakeholder/Supplier Relations
• Ensure strategic objectives are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
Risk/Data Compliance
• Identify and manage risk/s.
• Manage workload within the department.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security by implementing and adhering to data governance policies and procedures.
• Work closely with IT and other relevant teams to address data quality issues.
• Assist with policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data.
Data Warehousing
• Design and develop Datawarehouse dimensions and facts.
• Analyse data warehouse design and recommend improvements to benefit BI efforts.
• Ensures integrity of database architecture and data repositories, deployment of data to the data warehouse (ETL) run smoothly.
Group Reporting
• Build Interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g. Power BI) to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development and implementation of organization’s reporting and analytics.
• Drive a business intelligence roadmap, prioritize analysis request to balance tactical and strategic information needs.
• Lead the development and execution of the organization’s BI strategy by ensuring implementation of BI projects.
• Create visually compelling data visualizations that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analysis needs.
• Participation on organizational AI efforts.
Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure BI solutions align with organizational goals.
• Communicate findings and insights in a clear and understandable manner to stakeholders at various levels.
• Provide end-user support and encourage user adoption.
• Act as Tier 1 support for end-users of BI tools.
• Train end-users on basic functionality.
• Direct users to training material and available resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop information management capabilities.
• Manage a team of BI analysts, BI developers, and data analysts.
Continuous Improvement
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and analytics.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:
• Postgraduate diploma in Information systems/technology.
• 8 - 10 years’ experience in the ICT domain
• Knowledge of MS SQL/Python/BI Tool and related technologies
• Knowledge of data warehousing
• 8+ years’ experience in a data analysis role
• Experience in development and execution of data reports and dashboards to meet stakeholder expectations.
 
Preferred
• Knowledge in data modelling, both logical and physical
• Experience in the higher education sector.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for collecting, processing, and performing statistical analysis on large data sets to identify trends patterns and correlations that can inform organizational decision-making and performing root cause analysis. As well as include data collection and cleaning, statistical analysis, creating reports and visualizations for non-technical audiences, collaborating across departments to support data driven decisions and ensuring data quality.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Analysis and Interpretation
• Gather data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganise this data in a format that can be easily analysed.

• Build Interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g. Power BI) to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Design and develop reports.
• Create compelling data visualizations that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Project Management or related.
• 4-6 Years’ experience in the ICT Domain of which at least 3 should be focused on Data Analysis
• Advanced knowledge of SQL/Python/BI.
• Technical proficiency regarding database design, data models, techniques for data mining and segmentation.
• Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel
• Advanced experience in database management.
 
Preferred
• Post Grad Degree in Data Science Engineering or related Degree.
