The Position
The purpose of the internship is to provide an IT graduate with practical training and workplace exposure in Business Intelligence systems and general IT support.
The intern will assist with the design, development and implementation of Business Intelligence systems under supervision, as well as Microsoft-related support, software development tasks and the maintenance of computer-based systems, including user support, networks, servers and printers, where required.
Requirements:
· Degree or Advanced Diploma qualification at NQF Level 7 in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management or a related discipline.
· A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
· Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, Microsoft Azure, or related certifications will be advantageous.
· Basic knowledge and understanding of data management, data analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboarding.
· Basic understanding of computer networks.
· Sound knowledge of operating systems, including Windows 10 or higher and Windows Server 2016 or higher.
· Basic knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience with Excel Power Pivot will be advantageous.
· Basic coding knowledge in object-oriented programming languages.
· No prior internship or work experience is required.
Responsibilities:
· System Administration and Development
· Assist with the design and development of Power BI dashboards and data analysis solutions.
· Assist with maintaining and supporting NMISA’s IT environment, including network access, Microsoft Active Directory, Outlook, server backups, software licensing and updates, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and workflow-related issues.
· Assist in resolving hardware-related problems involving servers, PCs, networks, and printers to ensure users can perform their duties efficiently.
· Assist with ensuring that all endpoints are updated with the latest Microsoft patches and antivirus signatures.
Person Specification:

The Position
The purpose of the internship is to provide a graduate with practical training within the Applied Metrology Regional Reference Institute section. The intern will support the section by assisting with tasks and activities as required by the organization, under supervision.
Requirements:
· Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
· A postgraduate qualification in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
· Candidates who have recently completed their qualification and require workplace experience will have an added advantage.
· Good communication skills and report writing skills.
· High level of responsibility, professionalism and attention to detail .
· Basic understanding of laboratory practices and chemical handling procedures.
· Knowledge of laboratory health and safety requirements, including safe handling and disposal of chemicals.
· Basic understanding of analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
· Familiarity with preparation of reagents, sample handling, and record keeping.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Understanding of quality systems and good laboratory practices (GLP) will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:
· Assist with routine laboratory testing and analysis under supervision.
· Assist with preparing samples, reagents, standards and laboratory solutions in accordance with approved procedures.
· Assist with operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments as instructed.
· Assist with recording, capturing and maintaining accurate laboratory data and test results.
· Assist with calibration, verification, and routine performance checks of laboratory equipment.
· Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and good laboratory practices (GLP).
· Assist with ensuring compliance with laboratory health, safety and environmental requirements.
· Assist with stock control, inventory management, and monitoring of laboratory consumables.
· Participate in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
· Assist senior laboratory personnel with research, testing, method development, and other technical activities where required.
· Assist with filing and maintaining laboratory documentation and records in accordance with organisational procedures.
· Attend training sessions and participate in continuous learning and development activities.

The Position
The purpose of the internship is to provide a law graduate with practical training and workplace exposure in legal services. The intern will support the Legal and Compliance function by assisting with administrative and legal services tasks as required, under supervision.
Requirements:
· BProc, LLB Degree or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 8.
· Post graduate qualification in the relevant field will be an advantage.
· Knowledge of all relevant legislation (PFMA, POPIA, PAIA, New Companies Act, King IV etc.).
· Competent in MS Office Software package.
· Analysing, quality and detailed orientation.
· Good communication skills and report writing skills.
· No prior internship or work experience is required.
Responsibilities:
· Assist the Legal Office with administrative support and perform legal services tasks as required by the organisation.
· Assist in handling correspondence relating to the Entity’s legal matters.
· Assist with coordination with other entities on matters of mutual interest.

INTERNSHIP: OUTBOUND LOGISTICS AND ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT CMM (24 MONTHS)

The Position
The purpose of the internship is to provide a graduate with practical workplace exposure in laboratory administration, outbound logistics and related operational support.
The intern will support the CMMM Analytical and Material Sciences team, including related projects within the Green Economies, Agrifood and Quality of Life programmes. The intern will also assist with day-to-day laboratory administration, financial administration and logistics activities, contributing to the timely delivery of products and services and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
· Grade 12 with a Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or Logistics Management.
· Post graduate qualification in the relevant field will be an advantage.
· Must have strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, be detail-oriented and organized.
· Ability to manage time effectively and meet multiple competing deadlines.
· Prioritization skills.
· Professional conduct is required at all times, when dealing with customers (both internal, external) and suppliers.
· No prior internship or work experience is required.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with updating financial systems, e.g. spreadsheets to monitor operational spending, assist with sourcing quotations, specifications and follow-up on delivery of items.
· Assist with logistics of NMISA PT schemes, PRGMs and RM sales. Quoting, packaging, couriering with all the necessary paperwork (Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), legal permits and commercial invoice, including invoicing.
· Assist with managing and monitoring inventory of all NMISA reference materials (monthly) and related SDS and Certificates of Analysis, uploading to inventory management system.
· Assist with managing chemicals in storage areas, inventory and assist with timely re-ordering of supplies (consumables, gases, solvents).
· Assist with NMISA cylinder inventory, reference material inventory and EBA equipment inventory management.
· Assist with paperwork relating to outbound logistics and internal procurement processes and updating MS Excel spreadsheets to facilitate monitoring of operational spend.
· Assist with record keeping and maintenance of documentation relating to NMISA products for shipping.
· Assist with any additional tasks reasonably in line with this position.
