The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture that was created to ensure the equitable growth of South Africa's film and video industry. We do this by providing funding for the development, production, marketing and distribution of films and the training and development of filmmakers. In addition, the NFVF commissions research and produces industry statistics that provide both the public and stakeholders with valuable insights into the South African film & video industry.
Position: Funding Administration Manager
Reporting to: Head: Industry Development

The Funding Administrator role is an integral part of the NFVF’s applications and funding value chain. The main aims of the role are to advise and work closely with Program Managers (both fiction and non-fiction) in the active management of budgets and contracts. The role will also support the Training team in making optimal use of budgets, outreach work as well as creating a database of all NFVF funded projects and recipients of grants.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in Business Administration/Production Management or similar;
- 5-6 years experience in Production/ Administration, 3 of which should be in a Management position;
- Solid knowledge of the film and television industry;
- Proven track record of managing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review NFVF applications processes by ensuring alignment with relevant policies and procedures to ensure that application process is seamless;
- Monitor and ensure continuous improvement of the on-line application system, including the annual management of licenses;
- Create and manage the NFVF’s data management system of all current and previous beneficiaries;
- Create and manage an online portal of skilled industry professionals funded by the NFVF;
- Manage and oversee any additional Creative Skillset and special projects as and when required;
- Manage industry feedback of all applications, evaluation process and any other related queries;
- Manage the compilation of appeals on all projects, as well as response times and attend to queries timeously;
- Compile comprehensive financial reports to Council on application analysis trends, funding patterns and demographics, as well as funding;
- Review and edit feedback notes for all funded projects;
- Manage P&D and Marketing funding contracts;
- Manage monthly reporting and DAC quarterly reporting;
- Manage the appeals register and the resolution of cases timeously as well as respond to funding queries.

- Practical knowledge of the Public Sector;
- Financial Awareness.
