Job description
Public, Stakeholder and Media Relations Strategy
- Establish and drive a strategic internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees’ and customers’ understanding, engagement and commitment with a resulting increase in return on investment.
- Develop and implement the Marketing and Communications strategies and plans aligned with the NEF business objectives and goals
- Ensure new communication campaigns and programs are supportive of investment targets.
- Manage brand delivery and consistency thereof across target market for all products.
- Actively lead, build and manage the Corporate Communications team to produce high quality publications and materials on time and within budget.
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders in Parliament and Government and various Ministers in Cabinet.
- Represent the NEF at external meetings and conferences.
- Develop and execute marketing and brand awareness strategies to enhance visibility and recognition.
- Lead, plan and implement marketing initiatives for new projects ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies that align with business needs and ensure seamless execution to meet established brand performance metrics.
- Leverage marketing expertise to position the NEF as a leader in socio-economic development in South Africa.
- Monitor marketing trends and feedback to ensure the NEF brand consistently meets stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee the creation of engaging content such as blogs, social media posts etc., and ensure alignment with brand messaging.
- Ensure the brand meets expectations through monitoring marketing trends and feedback.
- Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels and materials.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy and plan for the NEF.
- Design and create seamless digital experiences that drive user engagement with the NEF brand.
- Prepare proposals and reports for business and management review on various e-marketing activities and challenges.
- Oversee the SEO strategy and management of the NEF website and social media platforms to ensure content, branding consistency and optimize online presence.
- Monitor and analyse NEF's media coverage, providing strategic recommendations to enhance positive media presence.
- Manage media-related risks by identifying, implementing and maintaining effective risk control measures.
- Lead the development and implementation of research methods, tools and partnerships to collect actionable insights.
- Design and develop creative communication and marketing products – presentations, briefings, etc. that will maximise the NEFs message, support programme objectives and contribute to the research sector.
- Prepare and present Marketing and Communications’ reports to Exco, Board / Board Sub-Committees and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners.
- Ensure all marketing and communication efforts comply with industry regulations.
- Oversee the publication of an internal newsletter.
- Serve as the NEF’s primary media spokesperson, develop media articles and responses as well as presentations for media communication.
- Promote the NEF projects / programmes through various communication platforms.
- Manage the preparation the production of publicity materials such as brochures, photographs, multimedia programmes etc.
- Lead planning, resource allocation, budgeting and ensure programme milestones related to marketing & communications are achieved on time and within budget.
- Implement effective budgetary controls to manage departmental finances.
- Monitor and assess expenditure, identifying and addressing any budget gaps.
- Oversee the planning and execution of all corporate events, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget and meet business expectations.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support events delivery.
- Manage performance feedback and implement consequence management.
- Develop work plans and allocation of work, ensure outputs from team are of an acceptable standard

Minimum requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Communications or related field (advantageous)
Experience / Skills Required
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Marketing and Communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity,
- Experience in the financial services sector is essential,
- Proven success in developing and implementing impactful marketing strategies that drive brand awareness and enhance customer engagement,
- Strong leadership and team-building skills,
- In-depth experience in designing and executing marketing strategies across various channels,

Job description
Office Management and Statutory reporting
- Uphold the professionalism and positive image of the Office of the CEO.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, including standing in during key meetings, gathering insights and feedback for quick decision-making.
- Provide oversight on all policies and documents submitted to the CEO’s office ensuring quality and alignment before approval.
- Represent the CEO’s office in organisational forums and relevant committees.
- Manage and coordinate the formal submission of documents to the Executive Authority in line with legislative requirements (PFMA etc.) ensuring timely delivery e.g., strategic business plans, budgets and quarterly reports.
- Handle administrative tasks related to work programs, projects, and research as directed by the CEO.
Project Management, Strategic and Executive support
- Contribute actively to the conceptualisation and development of the National Empowerment Fund’s (NEF) business strategy.

Minimum requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics or similar field
- Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience / Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive office management environment.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Middle Management position
- Experience in Development Finance or Financial Services is advantageous
- Understanding of the NEF Act
- Strong understanding of protocol matters with regards to government, parliament and other key stakeholders.
