SIX MONTH CONTRACT POSITION
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Salary Package: R45 000 (TCTC) per month.
Nedlac is looking for a Communications Specialist to provide communications and media support to the organisation for a period of six months.
Key performance areas;
• Develop a communications policy and strategy in line with the organisation’s strategy.
• Develop appropriate communications protocols to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Set up and pro-actively engage on social media
• Monitor website, social media platforms and different communications channels and respond when appropriate.
• Develop a media database
• Update website on a weekly basis
• Produce a biweekly newsletter
• Arrange media briefings and similar as and when required
• Draft articles for publication in the media to build the reputation of Nedlac
• Develop, revise or amend communication strategies and policies.
• Mentor and guide the Coordinator in the office of the Executive Director.
Qualifications and experience required:
• NQF Level 7 in a relevant field.
• At least five years’ experience in communications in which preferably two years have been spent in the public sector (preferable).
• High level of writing, editing and language skills, and an ability to convey complex issues in a concise, clear and direct style.
• Working knowledge of relevant computer software such as MS Office, Word Press, Adobe etc.
• Excellent Public Relations and Communications Skills.
