Contract Type: Permanent
Total Remuneration Package: R555 647 per annum with no further benefits
The National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Finance Officer to join its Finance team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger schedules
- Perform bank reconciliations and revenue reconciliations accurately and timeously
- Ensure timely, valid, and accurate payments aligned with Purchase Orders and SLAs
- Capture payments and transactions on payment and accounting systems
- Verify invoice amounts against Purchase Order values before processing
- Provide administrative support to payroll processes as required
- Maintain effective banking relationships and ensure seamless banking operations
- Prepare and execute responsibilities in line with internal controls, policies, and legislation (PFMA, tax regulations)
- Capture and submit e-filing information to SARS in compliance with tax laws
- Support the Finance Officer and Senior Finance Officer in financial reporting and monthly accounts finalisation
- Assist in preparing schedules for Annual Financial Statements and monthly management accounts
- Perform variance analysis on expenditure and revenue accounts and provide insights
- Conduct asset verification bi-annually, update records, and capture acquisitions in the accounting system
- Maintain and update the invoice register monthly
- Collate and update performance information for the Finance Manager and the CFO as required
Requirements
- NQF Level 7 – bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in finance or accounting.
