MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 or Equivalent
Fire Fighter I
HAZMET Awareness
First Aid Level 3
A Valid driver’s License (C1)
Preference will be given to candidates residing in Mkhondo boundaries

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be Physically Fit
Sight ,Hearing and Speech ability
Be willing to work overtime when required
Be in good health
Must Perform duties in the whole Municipal area
Be able to conduct manual operations on foot and uneven surfaces
RESPONSIBILITIES
Following instructions/demonstrations and performs physical exercises and practical emergency applications in simulated situations.
Removing and washing of debris from tools and/or vehicles using pressurized cleaning systems (hand held hoses) and, checking procedural application or placing/stacking tools/equipment in demarcated locations/vehicle compartments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Following instructions/demonstrations and performs physical exercises and practical emergency applications in simulated situations.
Removing and washing of debris from tools and/or vehicles using pressurized cleaning systems (hand held hoses) and, checking procedural application or placing/stacking tools/equipment in demarcated locations/vehicle compartments.
Testing the functionality of emergency apparatus/equipment and vehicles applying standard procedures and communicating the conditions/status in verbal/written form to immediate superior.
Directing water and/or specific fire extinguishing mediums using the hose and/or adjusting spray nozzle to increase/decrease flow and spread.
Resuscitating or treating persons applying firs aid techniques and using medical equipment and accessories (under supervision.
Comprehending instructions and entering confined spaces of premises to inspect and verbally communicating arrangements deviating from fire safety regulations to the immediate superior.
Demonstration fire equipment, techniques and/or distributing flyers and other informative material during education and awareness campaigns and events.
Extricating or realising casualties from affected locations using emergency equipment (under supervision.
