BIOMETALLURGY DIVISION
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
· Computer Literacy –MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Sound communication skills
· Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent academic record (academic average of 60%) and have completed S4/S5 in the following fields:
· Chemical Engineering
· Metallurgical Engineering
· Analytical Chemistry
SALARY PACKAGE: R93 600.00 CTC per annum non negotiable
DURATION: One (1) year contract
CLOSING DATE: 24 July 2025
Successful candidates must arrange their own accommodation close to Mintek, and must make their own travel arrangements to get to Mintek. Candidates must be willing to undergo psychometric testing.

Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Provide technical and functional SharePoint support to Mintek users.
- Designing, coding and implementing SharePoint applications as per documented business requirements.
- Extend SharePoint functionality, test and implement new features in a SharePoint Online environment, as well as a SharePoint 2016 on-premises environment.
- Manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor system performance.
- Configure and administer SharePoint and automate tasks.
- Maintain and update SharePoint Applications.
- Monitor SharePoint interfaces with other systems to ensure healthy system integration.
- Design, configure and maintain enterprise taxonomy, terms, and keywords.
- Monitor SharePoint software for any faults or problems.
- Troubleshooting SharePoint application issues and testing and debugging code.
- Perform preventative maintenance of SharePoint.
- Manage, maintain, and revise the site layouts, site content, structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation.
- Work Closely with divisions and cross-functional divisions to communicate project statuses.
- Adhere to best SharePoint practices and ICT Governance.

Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Honours degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Studies or equivalent
- 5 years minimum relevant experience

Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Assist Head/Divisional manager to maintain and expand on project work from the mining/ metallurgical industry and related research agencies, in line with Division’s current business plans, by providing competence and professional expertise, and interacting with clients, collaborators and potential partners.
- Ascertain needs of clients and the industry and propose appropriate project work, both research and commercial oriented. Identify opportunities for innovation and commercialisation.
- Lead and execute projects in which interactions with stakeholders (internal and external) are required at an advanced level of technical expertise. This will involve algorithm/software development to extract appropriate information, and modelling, simulation and interpretation of mineral behaviour in processing and other environments using, primarily, mineralogical inputs.
- Train, and technically mentor the staff in the group, so as to improve technical quality and turnaround times, and promote innovative outcomes, thus enhancing the value proposition of the group to clients and collaborators.
- Execute projects so as to meet the time scheduling agreed to with client/stakeholder, contain costs for the Division and deliver valid conclusions with technical efficiency and professionalism.
- Comply with the internal administration requirements of Mintek and the Mineralogy Division with respect to labour and machine time capture, business governance, professional reporting, project planning and management.
- Develop protocols/workflows for optimal operation and performance of specialised imaging equipment.
- Ensure that QES procedures are followed, and project work is executed to produce valid conclusions and with maximum overall efficiency - technically and financially.
- Ensure that the documentation of work and procedures is appropriately captured and produce advanced professional level reports, publications, and conference contributions.
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
