Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
·       Identify and develop improvements related to Financial, Project, Supply Chain Management, and Sales & Service ERP processes.
·       Train Mintek’s ERP system users on Financial, Project, Supply Chain Management, and Sales & Service ERP processes.
·       Provide technical and functional ERP system support to Mintek users.
·       Consult with management to devise the most useful ways to apply the ERP system for business goals.
·       Develop and implement ERP system applications as per documented business requirements.
·       Extend ERP system functionality, test and implement new features.
·       Document configuration changes and update system blueprints.
·       Configure and administer the ERP system and automate tasks.
·       Maintain and update ERP system applications.
·       Monitor ERP system interfaces with other systems to ensure healthy system integration.
·       Troubleshoot ERP system application issues.
·       Adhere to best practices and ICT Governance.
·       Perform monthly reporting.
 
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Honours degree in  Finance or ICT related field, or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum relevant experience 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
  • Extensive experience in financial and project management processes as run in an ERP system.
  • Must have experience with a first or second-tier ERP systems, e.g., IFS, SAP, or Sage.
  • Relevant experience with IFS would be preferable.
  • Ability to handle sensitive company information responsibly.
  • Ability to solve complex issues.
  • Ability to conduct research independently.
  • Ability to prioritise, think and work quickly to remedy system shutdown or serious software problems

Job description
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INDICATOR
  •  Supervise and execute research addressing complex and often unique problems that are encountered by the specific industry sector and that require high levels of integration and specialised knowledge and skills
  • Undertake research related to the objectives of the group, including desktop studies, preliminary economic evaluations, metallurgical reporting and project reporting.
  • Exercise foresight, creativity and judgement based on scientific / engineering principles to ensure that research projects / programmes are planned and guided.
  • Conceptualise, design, execute, analyse and troubleshoot  independently
  • Assess the environment to determine opportunities for research and transform opportunities into proposals for funded research to ensure external revenue contribution.
  • Analyses, interprets and reports on complex research outcomes and is regarded as an emerging specialist / expert. This includes reports, publications, presentations, inventions etc. at the level of national expert level
  • As a decision maker be responsible for the assessment and management of all risks related to the projects / programs under direct control.
  • Responsible for significant equipment / facilities.
  • Work independently and provides instruction to junior staff.
  • Will lead, guide, mentor and train staff and will supervise post-graduate students.
 
Minimum requirements
·        Min: PhD in Chemical/metallurgical engineering (preceded by BSc(Eng) or BEng and MSc(Eng) or MEng.
·        Minimum: 5-10 years’ experience in the field directly related to the duties and responsibilities undertaken in the Division.
·        Exposure to, and an understanding of bioprocesses, especially bioleaching.
·        Exposure to and an understanding of, mine water and waste challenges, treatment and value recovery.
·        Ideal: SACNASP or ECSA registered

Key Performance Indicators
  • He/she is aware of trends in the relevant field, and is able to formulate ideas relating to technical projects, frame and develop research questions, design experiments, identify problems, and evaluate and implement solutions. 
  • Play a leading role in the execution of work as a chief investigator of projects, within the division/group
  • Operational: Establish specifications, improve workflows, and introduce operating procedures – project level.
Commercial
  • Prepare proposals under direct/limited supervision to Client satisfaction.
  • Design, operate and oversee discipline specific experimental work as required by Proposals and ensure that procedures are complied with, and quality control and continual improvement are applied.
  • Collect and interpret data at a quantitative and qualitative level using discipline specific standard methodologies and procedures. Including the preparation of analytical and descriptive narratives. Ensure that the interpretation is based on sound scientific / engineering theory.
  • Plan and manage projects to ensure efficient use of time, equipment and facilities, including coordinating with others.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promote continual improvement in the workplace, adhere to and enforce all SHEQ requirements.
  • Ensure that the project team understands and adheres to all SHEQ requirements
  • As a Principal Investigator, responsible for the assessment and management of all risks at a project level.

Research and Development
  • Prepare proposals under direct/limited supervision, including Open Call proposals.
  • Perform routine scientific and engineering research using standard methods, procedures and equipment. Act as a principal investigator on such projects.
  • Perform complex scientific and engineering research under supervision.
  • Contributor to IP development. 
 
Minimum requirements
  • Min: MEng or MSc(Eng), preceded by BSc(Eng) or BEng.
  • At least 3 – 5 years vocational experience following first graduation, in Biometallurgy, processing of minerals or knowledge based organisations.
  • Exposure to, and an understanding of bioprocesses, especially bioleaching.
  • Exposure to and an understanding of, mine water and waste challenges, treatment and value recovery.
