MINING QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY (MQA) 
 
CERTIFICATION ADMINISTRATOR (QUALITY ASSURANCE)
Total Annual Package: R 346, 793.10 (TCTC) excluding a possible 20% performance bonus
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) that facilitates skills development training in terms of the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
The MQA also supports mine health and safety for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996, under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
The MQA requires the services of a Certification Administrator in the Quality Assurance Unit. 
The successful individual will report to the Quality Assurance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for Quality Assurance (QA) audits and related functions.
  • Verify and allocate serial numbers to learners who meet the requirements to access a trade test.
  • Receive and prepare learners’ portfolios of evidence (PoEs) to be submitted to the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) for certification.
  • Capture certificates received from NAMB and distribute them to the trade test centres.
  • Provide feedback to the trade test centres on applications returned or rejected from NAMB.
  • Provide administrative support in printing learnerships and skills programmes certificates.
  • Provide administrative support for the quarterly QA Accredited Skills Development Providers and Capacity Building workshops.
  • Ensure preparation and arrangements for the Quality Assurance Committee as per the approved calendar plan.
  • Prepare reports to be submitted for accreditation/programme approval.
  • Provide administrative support for the implementation and maintenance of the QA’s accreditation status as an Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) / Development Quality Partner (DQP), as accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
 
Minimum requirements:  Qualifications and Skills
  • A matric certificate and post matric qualification; National Diploma (NQF Level 6 equivalent) in Administration/HR Management/Training/ Management or Public Management.
  • Degree (NQF Level 7) qualification in any of the above fields will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in public sector/SETA.
  • A valid driver’s license (optional).
  • Knowledge of a quality management system, preferably ISO 9001:2008, is essential.
  • Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the SETA environment will be an added advantage.
