REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES
-Provide technical support to the library sector with regard to planning, implementing and managing information technologies. - Provide technical support in terms of the libraries’ e-learning centre/digital library. - Create, coordinate and implement the library’s technology training programmes. - Train Staff and Users in the effective use of technology and electronic resources. - Develop e-learning and other computer/information literacy training modules. - Liaise with the IT department regarding user problems related to the e-learning centre, library network infrastructure and related equipment. - Promote and coordinate the effective management and development of electronic information resources and information technologies including budgeting for e-resources. - Responsible for the general day-to-day operational functioning of the e-learning centre. - Serve as webmaster for the library. - General administration including report writing, filing, tending to queries, answering telephones, etc. - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.
    
SALARY R 390 120. 00 p.a. – R 430 908. 00 p.a. (Level 06 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 588 473.60 p.a.

REQUIREMENTS
-Grade 10. -Grade 12 will be an added advantage. -Valid driver’s license. -Heavy-duty machine Operating Certificate Excavator (NQF 2). -Communication and interpersonal skills. -Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, problem solving skills and attention to detail. -A hard-working self-disciplined person. -Skilful handling and operating of the Heavy-Duty Machinery. - Three (03) years relevant experience operating an excavator, experience within Local Government Authority will be an added advantage.
 
DUTIES
Operations: -Responsible for operating heavy duty machine such as bulldozer, landfill compactor or any other on landfill sites, transfer stations. -Spread out and compact waste as per the norms and standard and relevant Waste Management Licences. Cell construction and closure.. Responsible for maintenance of access roads within the site to ensure efficient movement closures. -Responsible to execute daily works order received from the Site Supervisor and/ or Foreman. Fleet maintenance and Monitoring: -Inspecting equipment for defects and maintaining records of repairs performed. -Responsible for all equipment which are used in association with the position. -Monitoring machinery functions such as oil levels and coolant levels to ensure safe operation. Compliance with relevant legislations: -Ensure compliance to pre-determined compacting methods. -Coordinating with other workers to ensure that operations onsite meet safety standards. -Responsible for all safety requirements and ensuring those safety regulations are followed when using equipment. -Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by Supervisor and Foreman from time to time.
 
 
SALARY R 274 380,00 p.a.– R 313 416,00p.a.  (Level 08 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

​CHAINSAW OPERATOR _ MN3985/25

-Grade 10. -Grade 12 will be an added advantage. -Operators certificate on Chainsaw will be an added advantage. – Horticulture NQF level 2 certificate will be an added advantage. - Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage. -Interpersonal & communication skills. -Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, conflict & stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail. - Physically fit and knowledge of operating a chainsaw.  -Good physical health. -A hard working, self-disciplined person with strong leadership and motivational qualities. -1 year relevant work experience in bush cutting, grass cutting and tree cutting within Local Government Authority. Preference given to Midvaal Residents. 
 
DUTIES
-Operate a Chainsaw to cut and remove tree branches, trees, bushes and solve complaints to ensure a safe and beautiful environment. -Handle chainsaw safe under power lines to ensure that no injuries occur. -Maintenance of chainsaw and pruner to ensure reliable, safe equipment for enhanced performance. -Adhere to safety standards and prescribed PPC’s. -Pick up all rubble, garden refuse, etc. in flowerbeds or on sport fields. -Put out traffic signs to warn traffic about workers next to municipal roads. -Use garden tools to clean areas when machines are out of order or during winter months. -Clean parks and cemeteries when necessary. -To work full day in alternative short Fridays (Pay Day). -Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested by management (supervisor) from time to time.
 
SALARY R174 012,00 p.a.– R193 644.00 p.a.  (Level 12 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

-Control, coordinate, train and supervise subordinates in the section. - Assist the Superintendent with the planning and daily duties of the section. - Attend to public complaints and prioritise sectional activities accordingly. - Allocation of work orders to staff members. - Responsible for staff discipline and safety. - Perform all administrative duties of subordinate staff members including managing their leave applications. - Perform standby and overtime duties as and when required. - Responsible for all operational, maintenance and construction aspects of surfaced roads, gravel roads & road marking & signage within the section. – Manage & maintain high quality standards in compliance with the standard specification. - Manage the maintenance teams and programmes & ensure that they meet their targets. - Ensure efficient and effective administration within the section. -Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
