Job Description
An excellent opportunity exists for a suitable person to fulfil the role of Junior Cost and Management Accountant, based at our Head Office in Alton, Richards Bay. The position reports to the Cost and Management Accountant and the incumbent will be responsible for the compilation and maintenance of the organisation’s Cost Management Structure and budget information.
 
Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
  • Assist with the Administration of the Cost Management accounting policies and procedures Co-ordinate inputs for the compilation of the annual budget based on established deadlines
  • Provide support in tariff calculations with correct and motivated data captured using the Hyperion Financial modelling tool.
  • Regular engagements with budget holders so as to review expenditure and prepare variance reports
  • Provides assistance to the Section with regards to input to business plan, quarterly reports and the annual report
 
 
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Matric plus a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Cost and Management Accounting; or a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Cost and Management Accounting or, equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ Accounting experience, of which one year must be have been Cost and Management Accounting.
  • Experience in tariffs and financial modelling experience will be advantageous.
  • Must be fully computer literate. Knowledge of Hyperion modelling tool and AX Dynamics will be advantageous.
  • Good financial acumen, ability to work under pressure, teamwork and problem-solving initiative.
