The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) is a statutory development agency for promoting and ensuring media development and diversity, set up as a partnership between the South African Government and major print and broadcasting companies to assist in (amongst others) developing community and small commercial media in South Africa, in terms of the MDDA Act. The following positions are based in Parktown, Johannesburg.
 
 
Audit & Risk Committee Chairperson
Term: 2 Years
Salary Scale: Compensation will be in accordance with rates as determined by National Treasury
 
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a three-year Tertiary Qualification (NQF 7) and a Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma in Risk Management, Auditing, Compliance, Finance or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
 
EXPERIENCE: 5 to 10 years’ experience in Risk Management Auditing/Compliance/Finance/Business Admin. Previous experience in Risk Management Committee/Audit Committee will be advantageous. Experience in a grunt funding environment will be an advantage.
 
REQUIREMENTS: The preferred candidate must be an independent person, with advanced knowledge of the Public-Sector Risk Management Framework, Corporate Governance King IV, COSO, Minimum Anti-Corruption Capacity, Public Finance Management Act and other Treasury Regulations.
 
 
 
Audit & Risk Committee Members
Term: 2 Years
SALARY SCALE: Compensation will be in accordance with rates as determined by National Treasury.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a three-year Tertiary Qualification (NQF 7) and a Post- Graduate Degree/Diploma in Auditing/Accounting will be an added advantage
 
EXPERIENCE: 5 to 10 years’ experience in Auditing/Accounting or relevant work experience at a senior/executive management level. Previous experience of serving in the Audit Committee will be advantageous.
 
REQUIREMENTS: The preferred candidate must be an independent person, with advanced knowledge and experience in Corporate Governance and Financial Management • Exposure to the Grant Funding Sectors and familiarity with Risk Management Practices • Knowledge and understanding of internal controls, major accounting and public sector reporting issues • Knowledge and understanding of and exposure to Legislation/Policies (PFMA/GRAP/ GAAP/National Treasury Regulations and practices notes relevant to the agency) • Knowledge and understanding of the roles of Internal and External Audit • Broad knowledge of auditing, finance, governance, ethics, performance management, operations, information technology, relevant financial reporting and legislative frameworks. Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written).
